Gears of War. I haven't beaten it yet, but I'm playing it on Hardcore difficulty. Pretty much the game was built around the idea of co-op, and I haven't found anybody willing to help me finish the game. Sigh.

1) No, you can use it to store music, and anything you download of the Live Marketplace. No you can't put anything from your PC to the hard drive (unfortunately).

2) Yes. It's not the best DVD player ever because the controls are a bit of a pain, so if you've got the cash, I'd op out for a remote.

3) No.

4) Maximum of four, just like the number of controllers you can use for the console.

5) There is a system link option on most online games, so you don't have to if you don't want to.

6) All 360 games should run. The only problem is if you decide to play regular XBOX games, which not all those games are supported.

7) No, you can buy a VGA cable though, and most HDTVs have a VGA port you can use too. Personally I'd go with HDMI for the best picture quality.

8 ) They're about the same, I can't really tell you since it differs per model. I'm not a TV expert either, so someone else can probably answer that question for you.

Enjoy your new console, and make sure you go for the gold membership on XBOX Live. Otherwise you'd be missing the point of why this console is so great!

Nah, don't buy it. It's ridiculously boring. You may want to op out for Lost Odyssey, the other game made by Mistwalker.

[QUOTE="Hyaku68"]

For me Gears... I must be the only 360 owner that doesn't really like Halo I know it kickass but never got into it. I borrowed the 3rd one off my bro and played it for 10mins if that and was bored. Again nothing agaist the game or the series just never got into it so Gears is my choice.

You're joking, right?

No, I believe him. I know someone that loves the 360 so much he bought it three times last year (because he can't manage his finances worth **** His words, verbatim, is "Halo 3 is the worst game I've ever played. I only played it because my friends were playing it." He also co-op Gears of War twice with my other friend, but he ended up saying he didn't like it anyways.

Yes, this friend of mine has no taste.

Basically what the first game did was revolutionize the genre by allowing the player to see all the events unfold before his character's eyes with no text reading interruptions and got rid of the concept of "levels", which originally were broken down by having a stats screen telling you your accuracy, hit ratio, etc. etc. by streamlining the experience, so that there wasn't any "breaks" in the events, kind of all real-time so to speak. The 2nd one took those concepts further by giving your characters a more cinematic experience, and used the physics engine as a integral part of the gameplay (especially with the Gravity Gun). This cinematic experience has since been used by Bioshock, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, etc.

If you're willing to wait, Devil May Cry 4 is coming out on the 5th of Febuary. It's not January, but it's fairly close.

The retail version of the 360 Oblivion GOTY edition comes in a set of two discs. The Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansion is on the second disc, so yes, you still have to download that 1.5 GB onto your hard drive regardless. The only exception to this is if you have the PS3 version (and possibly the PC one two).

Half-Life is one of those games that people put on a high pedistal because it revolutionized its genre (that includes the 2nd one). No, probably by today's standards it may not thrill you all that much, but back in the day it was considered the best FPS of all time (you know, like how people felt that magic the first time they played RE4 or Gears of War when it first came out). In fact, Half-Life and Half-Life 2 basically gave the blueprint for all future FPS to follow.

Even if the game sucks I still hold on to my gifts for sentimental value. That's why when someone offers to buy something off of me that was given to me as a gift, I decline to sell it.
