yeah ODST is the only thing I really want out of 360 2009...and seeing how dissapointing every casual motion control game is, I'm not too stoked...

I think PS3's motion control seemed a lot more precise looking for something like an FPS, where Natal seemed like something casuals and group games would get in to. I thought the Wiimote was cool as hell when I first saw it though and I never play my Wii so who knows, both could be a fail and a half when it comes to hardcorez...

[QUOTE="PC360Wii"][QUOTE="thetruespin"]I would understand the hate if we were drowning on MMORPGs.. but there is not a single one available on consoles... and if they can get the interface down, this could be amazing.. I mean, everyone loves ONLINE multiplayer... everyone loves FINAL FANTASY... and then you combine the two things we gamers love and somehow we get FAIL?? Seriously???zarshack

What do you expect? most people here value the cutscenes/story over the actual gameplay and depth/difficulty of RPGs, shrugging MMO's off because they focus on the latter more ;D , and take longer. Cant believe anyone complains about PLAYING more of a game over a longer peroid of time compared to quick bursts of damn videos.

i dont need another MMO to chew up 3 years of my life like WoW did, what annoys me most is that its called FFXIV... seriously just call it FF online, its not a friggen main game in the series.

Yeah except if you did play FFXI's main game you'd realize that 1) It did have a lot of story content and plenty of lore and dialogue to back it up...2) It was a throwback to classic FF, you'd know that if you looked at the art design, races, and class options/growth 3) The hardcore nature of the game was also reminiscent of classic NES FF in that you actually worked hard for your upgrades and spells, and that you were never truly Overpowered because there was always a tough fight waiting

Face it, your experience in MMOs being from WoW does not justify your opinion of FF Online, only recently has WoW actually developed the kind of narrative that FF Online always had with Wrath's story improvements and phased questing etc.

For those of us who enjoyed working hard with a couple friends to become truly heroic characters, XI was a blast and worth the FF numeral title, I'm done with XI right now but don't regret a second of it... WoW's definition of heroic is a fail pug AoEing down packs of crap without skill....Ulduar is the first time I actually had fun in a Wrath raid...

When I first got all 3 consoles, I really didn't care. But now I am as apathetic as hell about how the 360 does or Microsoft in general due to the crap I've been through on my 360.

2 broken controllers that hold a charge for about 20 minutes, 1 RROD that happened at the beginning of Christmas break, the lack of any features built into the console itself - like wireless internet, or the ability to charge your controller without payin extra money etc.

I have to hand it to PS3, besides the 12 dollar HDMI cable I bought with it, I have not spent a single extra cent on the console or have had tech problems with it, which is also why I don't pay for LIVE anymore, it's not different enough from PSN to matter.

And also, I'm looking into upgrading the hard drive in one of my consoles to create a media hub, and PS3 is also looking like the clear choice since I get to choose the HD I want, and not have to buy Microsoft's mandatory, overpriced one.

So yeah, I wasn't much of a fanboy when this cycle started, but like I said, being constantly frustrated, wondering what part of your console is going to malfunction next isn't helping my objectivity much.

It may be crap for you guys, but man my 4 year old niece loves the hell outta that game, and its nice that the controls are pretty simple.

I had her play my Wii before until she accidentally swung the remote, the strap was worn out so it slid off, and was like a half inch from nailing my TV. So I'm not letting her play anything but duck tub until she's a little smarter.

Your ending idea is pretty much the same fanservice that makes every good story go cheesy.

For example, if they had kept Tidus dead in FFX, then it would've made what he did that much more meaningful.

So pretty much the majority of MS's major successes were looking at other successes and throwing money at it? I love the 360, but I would at least like some innovation. I guess I'm asking for a lot though since I'm not a big shooter fan, and that was previously the Xbox's bread and butter.

Uncharted for me was an amazing game, though it didn't do anything new for the genre. I just can't explain it, but the first play through was a joy, even though the story is pretty generic, but it was after I beat it and replayed it on hard and then extreme, and then started doing perfect speed runs that I found the game is actually great on a casual basis too.

Maybe it's the pacing, and the fact that every inch of the game looks so freakin sexy

I also agree, but I attribute it to something of a developers lull. The Japanese for instance, have been recently relenting the fact that the American gaming market has become the dominant one, and I believe it is because they flood the market with all this generic crap. Meanwhile, it seems the wildly creative developers can't keep up.

For instance, from later half of 1997 to Christmas 2001 (little over 4 years), we received 4 separate Final Fantasy games from Square....VII, VIII, IX, and X...but wait, in there we also got great games like FF Tactics, Parasite Eve twice, Chrono Cross, Vagrant Story, and lastly...****ing XENOGEARS...ya, I'm a fanboy. And that's from 1 company, not counting Capcom, Konami, and Nintendo.

I can't say that the last 4 years could even compare slightly. I personally believe that the cheap FPS phenomenon has attributed to my distaste for modern gaming, along with American developers dominating the market now. GTA is about the only series whose breadth of content rivals that of the epic games from the 90s. And I'm also dissapointed in the Japanese developers not getting their product out more efficiently. Why did FF XII take 5 years to make? I have no idea.

So yes, I have a hard time making the dive into gaming myself too. I'm really looking forward to LBP though, since I know me and my friends will get our 60 bucks worth guaranteed.

I'm an MGS fanboy and I don't care when you question it, but when some of these "posters" have enemy fanboy avatars and post on system wars of why PS3 sucks, I have to be a little skeptical. There are plenty of legitimate topics too...it's just that all the hardcore fans like me got the game right away while others not so keen on the games are getting a copy now.

The one thing I can't stand though is the install complaint though, seriously, get off your butt for 3 minutes while it installs, you just played a 3 hour long chapter.
