i mean its what a mounth or so after release and all of a sudden there are multi hate threads about MGS4. i looked out side and there is no full moon so WTH? did all the 360 and wii only owners get to gather and diside to go on a troll spree lol :pWild_Card

All the hardcore MGS fans bought it immediately and were pleased to no end because we knew what to expect. Now all the casuals and bored people are listening to our hype and picking it up...but it's probably not for them because it's so different.

That said, just stop with the install time beef. If you can't go an initial 8 minutes without playing a game, and then take a break for 3 minutes every 2 to 3 hours....you have serious issues.

I hope the game has more in common with the first than the second one, I prefer the original, though they're both solid. I'm definitely hyped for it though, since it brought new ideas to the PS1 in 98, and hope it brings some freshness to the PSP as well.

If anyone has any doubts, the original Parasite Eve was made by a good handful of the people behind Chrono Trigger, not saying it's as good or as long, but it's still pretty great.

Tetragrammaton by The Mars Volta. That song's epicness is fitting for the PS3's seemingly untappable powers.

This will be Bethesda's next must buy game but it seems everyone is locked onto only 1-2 games for 08... Other than a possible release of one of the two FF games what else is in store for the rpg market??? tiger35010

I'm still trying to forget Oblivion ever happened.

Seriously though, whenever some movie maker, game developer, book writer makes a OMG EXPLOSION FUTURE story for their product, I'll pretty much pass on it since 95% of all those plots suck. The most apparent red flag to look for is them starting the trailer with a happy-go-lucky song, and a monologue which talks about how life is great, then transition to the epic apocalyptic future...it's so played out and cliche...I got bored of that in the 80s. Think up some new crap please developers.

Bethesda really sounds like a bastion of creativity. 4 games now with generic, boring high fantasy that rips off the concepts of every other generic, boring high fantasy (When I saw a town named SKINGRAD, I Lawled at their stupidity), and now we're on the 3rd game of apocalyptic future...like I said, something new and not played out PLZ.

The game is just a horrid mess of flaw stacked upon flaw upon flaw.

- Horrible leveling system,
A level 1 can beat the game and be the grand champion of pwn. Adding to that the leveled itemisation means that there is no motivation to seeking out the deepest of dungeons other than just exploring as you will find the same stuff on your next door bandit.

- Interaction
Simply put there is none, you can kill anyone and bribe the guard for 1.000$ (small change) and everyone will go on as if nothing happened. All quests are of a accept/decline nature that either end up with go talk to steve or go whack that dude.

The most choise you will see for any quest in this game will the option to simply turn around and walk away. You cant even kill a quest npc as they are just knocked unconcious to a immortal state

This will lead to absurd events like you butchering someones entire family infront of theyr eyes, paying up 1K to the guards and the next time you see time you see a lone survivor of your masacre they will offer you a quest to gather ingridients for brownys.

If bethesda's immersive storyline revolves around such a heavy accept/decline notation i fear the worsed for fallout3
: Yes, i will help.
: I am not ready yet.
Thats all the speech options you will see in a quest

There are 4 factions, some even oposing in nature and you can be become the boss of all without any repricusions.

Oh and did i tell about the joy of having 4 voice actors for the dozens of divrent characters? great immersion from talking to 8 dunrelated people in a row and being greeted with the same voice sample. This is one of the rare ocasions where one would want to downrate the inclusion of speech

the game was advertised as every character having theyr own life to lead and it translated into a person moving from one point in the room for 5 in game hours to the other side only to look at the empty wall.

The list goes on and on, if you want to treat the game as a free roaming adventure knock yourself out as teh world is huge and at times even gorgeous but if you are looking for an immersive gameworld with a good or even halfdecent story and continuation for your actions then you are ill advised to seek this game.

personally if you are seeking for a free roamer i can advise shadow of the colossus, the map may not be as huge as oblivion but atleast you dont have to worry about how often you jump for risk of overleveling the enemys -.-

Amen! My best friend plays this game, and it has to be one of the most glitch filled game I've ever seen. I remember one time he got stuck in a quest because of a glitch, and he has the game of the year edition, and had to borrow the regular edition from a friend to fix it. WTF?

I call the game Oblivious, since I'm completely Oblivious to why the hell everyone likes it, and instantly like Fallout 3 because of it.

I hate Devil May Cry 4!!!

I was a big fan of the original, and don't even have anything against Japanese stylish action games either, but this game had to be the lamest joke of a game ever. It's like half way through they didn't feel like developing anymore, so they just made you replay it as someone else.

I wonder if Capcom realized at any point that that game made all the same stupid mistakes that DMC2 did. It's like everytime they make a good one (1, 3)...they get too cocky and have to ruin it.

Too bad it sold undeservingly well and they won't try and change anything about it.

In my opinion, SE should just call the people behind the Gamcube remake of Resident Evil and have a 20 questions session with them about how to maintain the magic of the original, while making the game feel completely new.

RE for cube still holds my best remake ever title over any of the FF remakes/reprints

Just take a look at current Japanese pop culture. It's not so much that they're trying to look feminine for the sake of looking feminine, but are rather using that style because it's what is considered attractive to them right now.

In terms of shows, movies, books, musicians, and athletes...you're probably going to see quite a bit of guys that look to Americans as feminine.

Final Fantasy is just catering to the culture of the country of its designers. Similarly, Epic games can't make a hero who isn't a bulging mass of veins and scars. I can't knock FF for trying to appeal to its closest fans.

My personal preference is someone like Batman in his latest movie. Not a freak, not scrawny, and for the most part uses his head more than his muscles and or chainsaw machine gun.

[QUOTE="Solidus_Mute"]I'll be updating my hard drive when the new dashboard update comes around. Less sounds, less heat, faster load times... what's not to like about it? Plus it's not mandatory like the PS3 and is a lot faster to install on the 360 than the PS3. I remember reading an articles that stated that it took 20 minutes for the PS3 to install DMC4 while it only took 10 minutes for the 360.Matt-4542
Yep. The PS3's load times are unbearable. 8 minutes just to get into the MGS4 menu when you first run the game, then 2-3 minutes between acts  Unbearable! lol

I hope you're being sarcastic, because after how long each act is, if you can't put the controller down for 2 minutes, you have issues.

Miyamoto is seriously the man, and it's great that he hasn't quit doing his thing despite being set for life now.

He's also openly a fan of the other consoles, you just don't ever hear crap like that in PR pushes. I remember ready a quote from a JP magazine where he said he loves MGS4, but sorry I have no link, I read it back at launch of MGS4...
