Do you really care which system wins the war?

I don't think there will be a defining winner this gen like the one last gen...

Wii is going to outsell the PS3 and the Xbox 360 combined probably...

PS3 and Xbox 360 will be very close in hardware sales by the end of this gen, and I mean VERY CLOSE, like less than a million units difference

Not that I don't agree with you...

Even if any given system pulls ahead in just about every department, the opposing console fanboiz will still whip out their typical nonsense reasons as to why that system really isn't winning, and that it's just an illusion or some sh*t. We all know how it works. There will never be a fully recognized winner here.TOOLFRENZY

No, and there won't be a clear cut "winner" anyway.

Its either something arbitrary (sales, game scores, game sales, attach ratios, etc) or preference (what system each person prefers), so it would be pretty improbable to come up with a universally regarded "winner", and frankly, as long as you have fun, I think that gamers are the ones who win, at least most of the time.

When I first got all 3 consoles, I really didn't care. But now I am as apathetic as hell about how the 360 does or Microsoft in general due to the crap I've been through on my 360.

2 broken controllers that hold a charge for about 20 minutes, 1 RROD that happened at the beginning of Christmas break, the lack of any features built into the console itself - like wireless internet, or the ability to charge your controller without payin extra money etc.

I have to hand it to PS3, besides the 12 dollar HDMI cable I bought with it, I have not spent a single extra cent on the console or have had tech problems with it, which is also why I don't pay for LIVE anymore, it's not different enough from PSN to matter.

And also, I'm looking into upgrading the hard drive in one of my consoles to create a media hub, and PS3 is also looking like the clear choice since I get to choose the HD I want, and not have to buy Microsoft's mandatory, overpriced one.

So yeah, I wasn't much of a fanboy when this cycle started, but like I said, being constantly frustrated, wondering what part of your console is going to malfunction next isn't helping my objectivity much.

No system is ever going to straight up "win" this war of ours, there are only sytems that die and those who go to the next round.

The only thing we can do is basically decide on a 'winner' towards the end of a gen based on games/popularity/etc.

Depends. If the Wii wins by a land slide(PS2 style) that might mean that next gen Microsoft and Sony will try to emmulate that success.

And if thats the case, Im done with gaming. I don't want three Wiis. I like the X-box and the Playstation.
