Nice respones everyone, maybe we could pairup sometime at a 1st only server? Hard to find friendlies these days with all the Shoot On Sight policy :/

seanmcloughlin

Shoot on sight will be ever present from now on in DayZ. Unless the standalone has some miracle way to fix it, it will ruin the game forever more. Nothing will bring back the feeling of the mod when it first released. It was amazing then from a PvP standpoint. now it's all trigger happy guys,

I have a feeling that the zombies will be able to be properly scripted in the standalone, making them much tougher and encouraging more teamwork.

Thanks for all the support you guys have given me on my other videos. Hope you enjoy These. If you are a DayZ fanboy please don't come in just to dislike and make rude comments. This game is direct competition for DayZ and competition only makes the genre better and forces each game to be better then the other. I'm enjoying this game a lot. You should check it out.

Thanks for that. Played a bit of DayZ a while ago and enjoyed it. How does WarZ compare at the moment, worth a look?

Oh...says who? I'm neither from UK nor US, but I'm amuch better gamer than the average UK/US gamer. Stop being so narrow minded.

Pretty sure he was being sarcastic.

Yeah, I was joking.

Silly! That doesn't work on the internet.

I think you are missing the point of modern (post-Elite) game design. The purpose isn't to make you frustrated or enraged, but is instead designed to encourage you along an adventurous path, during which your skills naturally improve so that you can achieve things at the end (kill Diablo, destroy a fleet of Thargons) that you were not able to do at the start. If you want challenge, go multiplayer.

The problem with GTA4 was that it took itself too seriously, GTA 3: SA is the best of the bunch IMHO, since it made it easy to to ridiculous things.

Oooh, lots of great games listed here, but not my all time great:

Planetside

I thought WoW was really well crafted as well for the couple of years I was into it last decade.

This might be worth a punt:

(Especially if you liked Mount & Blade).

It is a bit like getting mugged on the way home from a very tedious job. Some people love it though.

Presumably, once you have played the complete game through all that data will have passed through your internet connection, so you could just use Wireshark to siphon it off and use that data to reconstruct a non-Blizzard server?

Kinthalis

shhh, he in his infinite knowledge doesn't know about data mining or package interception , he said it wasn't possible so it must be true, he said so because he knows all about drm and games and internet protocols, he read wikipedia about it.

Another idiot post form the village idiot.

IT doesn't work that way. You cna't just capture flat data and from that build AI algorithms and quest triggers.

Try again. But be careful, don't kill that last rbain cell you've got left.

BTW, I DO know a bit of how this works, what with being employed as a programmer. I'm not in the game business, but I know people who are.

Well possibly, what specifically is held server-side? Presumably the NPC AI isn't since that would need to react instantly to the player.
