JuanGrande is the only one who actually knows what he's talking about. The other two guys not so much.

You will get noticeable results by getting the component cables in your original link. The colors will be much better and some of the subtle details that didn't show up or were fuzzy will be sharpened. But be aware that the aliasing (jaggies) will be much more noticeable also. For example Final Fantasy X will look pretty pixelated (in game graphics, character models). It's kind of like sharpening a picture in a photo editing program.

PS3 component cables will work on a PS2. If spending $20 isn't a big deal then go for it.

for a brawler I like Urban Reign. The combat system is excellent and there's hidden co-op, 4 player vs. Tons of fighting moves and the animation is fluid. The difficulty is kind of wacked though - the minions are easy to beat but some of the boss fights are tough as hell.

You have to turn it on every time, it's only for PS1 games, and it doesn't make much of a difference. If anyone has PS1 games that they want to play and make look better I'd recommend going with an emulator. They've got filters that make them look a lot better.

Chrono Cross is a classic. There are less copies of it floating around, and yet I got a black label copy on Ebay a few weeks ago for $15 shipped. billyd5301
Chrono Trigger is a classic. Chrono Cross not so much. To most gamers it's just another jrpg. It did reach greatest hits status so while there are less copies floating around compared to FFVII, there are plenty of copies out there to satisfy the demand.

Final Fantasy X isn't even an honorable mention?

He hates Final Fantasy X.

I actually like FFX, but I also think its a tad overrated.

In my opinion FFX is the best final fantasy game - I wish that they would reuse the battle system for another title. IX had great art direction and graphics but other than that it doesn't have much going for it. It's the same old turn based battle system, a horrible cast, too much dialogue questioning the meaning of life theme. Seiken Densetsu 3 is a bit overrated. It was larger in scale than Secret of Mana but the gameplay was worst since the characters were stuck to one class i.e. couldn't use different weapons. I thought Secret of Mana's use any weapon aspect made the game what it was and less linear/standard than other rpgs. Can't say much about most of the games since a lot are for the PC.

and most of the time the low scores are because the reviewer doesn't believe that Koei has advanced the series. Sure the series can get old and feel the same if you've played it before but for anyone who hasn't it's still pretty fun. A lot of other games have tried to copy the Dynasty Warriors formula, but I feel can't top it - Ninety Nine Nights (360), Drakengard series (cool concept, but plays worse than DW).

Personally it's a good game. Not a great game or a must play. Maybe for $20 but not more than that. funny I thought the gba games were better than the 3d versions; there were more puzzles. But I did play the gba versions first and then tried the PS2 version. Parts of the PS2 game just required you to memorize the levels in order to collect all the gems.

If they're making them that means people are buying them. I liked 3 more than 4, but didn't battles play out the same way in both games. 5 wasn't bad I think, they added different kinds of bases and I liked some of the individual missions. I haven't played 6 but the new designs looked horrible so I'll probably skip it. PS - the games are based on the chinese novel, Romance of the 3 kingdoms, which is most likely a glorified version of actual history. I wouldn't say that it's completely accurate/realistic. Real or not it's quite epic and Koei's Dynasty Warriors series captures that.

Dark Alliance's story is a lot better than the Champion series - Return to Arms barely has one, there's a lady and she just tells you to go to the next level to defeat the bad guy. The graphics in Champions are sharper.
