Actually depending on the noise it was making it could've damaged your disc. If the laser was off its alignment it could've scratched your discs and left them with circular rings. If it was just a bad laser then you could've tried cleaning it; I've never seen a slim but I'm guessing the laser is exposed - just damp a towel or something and wipe the small lense.

In 10 years, I don't think any gba game will be worth much more than what they're worth today. You'll need to find games complete and in great condition and cheap. I'd second castlevania, maybe the metroid games. I don't think golden sun will be worth that much; it's not a really pivotal game and can't be compared to something like final fantasy or other snes rpg classics.

it's marvel land. I've never played the game but when you said jumping from rollercoasters I immediately thought of Marvel Land. I remember seeing it in a Sega vision magazine. Crazy that i still remember it so distinctly after 20 years.

Klonoa 2. Very underrated gem.AcidSoldner

I would also have to say Klonoa 2 too :D that games rocks

lol I thought it sucked to be honest

I thought it was average at best. The Klonoa gameboy advance games are awesome though - the levels are the perfect length - not too long, the puzzles were easy enough so they weren't frustrating but satisfying enough so that it didn't feel pointless. I prefer my platformers to be compact - I don't like it to be too open world or levels that are too long. I'd say Ratchet, Sly, and Maximo are great platformers. Ty is boring. Some say Kya is underrated - I thought so at first but then the game seemed to drag after a few levels. I think Haven is an underrated, tough platformer (it has too many types of gameplay though). Been wanting to try out Tak and Brave.

you don't have to but you should. It's only fair. Unless your whole plan from the beginning was to scam them I don't see why you wouldn't want to pay up. But you did over pay for it. It's only $4 at gamestop.

I love Sonic 2. I rather play that than Super Mario World. I don't know if it's just me but Mario is sluggish; it's like he's running through water or something. Go ahead and spend some time with Sonic 2 and then try and play SMW. You notice a difference. And Donkey Kong Country? the controls felt a bit too sensitive. Streets of Rage series is the best beat'em up during that time. Revenge of Shinobi was awesome (did the SNES have any comparable game?) Shining Force 2 was a lot of fun too - it's simplicity makes it very pick-up and play friendly. If the question was whether to pick Sega games over Nintendo made games - I'd go with Sega. But the SNES has so many quality exclusives that I'll pick the SNES for a console.

The adventures of Batman and Robin is probably the best looking superhero game on the snes. It's very different from the Genesis version (which was more of a side scrolling shooter). X-Men Mutant Apocalypse was great also.

Have one. I think Sega Superstars is probably the best game for it.Great for kids because they like seeing themselves on tv, plus they get to jump around acting crazy.

If you download the right driver you can hook it up to a pc and use it as a webcam.

I can understand why she didn't like those games. Katamari is a WTF kind of game, basically you're rolling a ball against a timer. Jak and Ratchet aren't really for the casual. I'd say no to Harvest Moon unless she likes sim games, but if she does then sims is probably a better choice. I also think she'll get bored of the lego games. Rather than ask what kind of games she likes, how about her interests or taste in movies/shows? How about trying Sly Cooper? I actually think that's the best series out of the 3 big sony platformers. Definitely has more of a story, distinctive graphics and settings. Does she like Shrek? I thought Shrek 2 was a fun multiplayer. Soul Calibur 3, maybe Baldur's Gate (but not Champions or the X-Men Legends games), Burnout 3 or Need for Speed, Hotshots Golf 4 ( I love the PSP versions), maybe lumines (but I don't think it's comparable to the addictiveness of tetris), maybe rez if she likes the graphics - gameplay may be boring for her, Persona 3 if she likes anime. Most of those are under $10 at gamestop, but definitely shop there so that you can return it if she doesn't like.
