This. I don't even remember a beta I've taken part in that was single player... Dark Reign 2, Command & Conquer: Renegade, Red Alert 3, Resistance 2, Uncharted 2, MAG (obviously)... all multiplayer.why would infamous have a beta? generally betas are for online stuff which i don't see sucker punch doing and i single player betas generally don't happen

I think the driving part ruins the game. Why should I have to drive when all I want to do is shoot stuff?
[QUOTE="sportwarrior"]I had success with my PS2 in much the same way when the DVD drive crapped out in it. The unit was like 2 or 3 years out of warranty when the DVD drive just suddenly crashed. It opened and closed but didn't run. I called Sony up and they initially wanted to charge me, but I told them that I felt I shouldn't be charged. I'd been a loyal Sony customer for a long time, had supported their console and their games, and told them I felt that a $400 unit like that should last for longer than a few years and that they should stand by their product. They put me on hold, came back and told me they'd be fixing it for free. Then again, my other issue was with a copy of Uncharted that spontaneously cracked in my PS3. It hasn't happened to any other discs, but it most definitely happened to this one... I handle discs of all kinds with extreme care and there was no way I'd done the damage myself. Sony wouldn't hear of it, though, and refused to replace the disc. Sucked.Gxgear
The second story is kind of hard to believe, even if it did happen. Never even heard of anything like it.
Well I'm not making it up. I honestly think it had something to do with the heat in the PS3. I put the disc in and played it several times over the period of a week or so. I then didn't play for 5 days, never once in that entire period taking the disc out of the PS3. When I turned the system on again, the disc wouldn't read. I thought maybe the drive was busted and wouldn't eject, but the disc came out fine. Upon inspection there was a fine crack stemming from the center of the disc and extending just barely into the readable area. It was most certainly NOT there before I put the disc in. I've seen very few people take the kind of care that I do when handling anything optical like that. I don't even touch the bottom, something that a lot of people (for whatever reason) don't seem to have an issue with. As a note, my PS3 since day one has generated a ton of heat. It's one of those with a fan that kicks into overdrive like a minute after startup.This. I'm confused why everyone in this thread keeps talking about a change. These are the exact same screens we saw at E3. Someone needs to produce some screens that prove otherwise.I don't see the change & it hasn't been offically announced, so I will wait until SP brings out this "new change".....again. Plus, some of those shots show the Cole we were shown at E3.
