  • Luigi's Mansion 3 (maybe, so far it looks like a 3DS game)

Seriously they are just sitting on an absolute cash cow and it's driving me insane!! lol. It's the perfect console to bring all these classics back.

Oh, don't worry, they will. You can look forward to DS games in the Nintendo Switch Online service in approximately 2028.

Seriously, though, yeah it's really bad how much they've missed the boat with this. The Wii U VC was great. If they had just done that on the Switch I guarantee people would have bought more not only because the Switch has sold way more, but also because VC games would be more desirable on a system that can be played either handheld or TV mode.

Nintendo frustrates me with how they make such obvious mistakes.

The Sims 3 is an amazing game, but it just doesn't work well... I followed guides and people to build a 'perfect' PC to run it and all EPs at max settings with minimal issues. Even then, it didn't. It runs better than on my old PC, but that PC was a nightmare to play the game on, so...

Still I see people who run it with no issues and brag about it and say "It's so simple". This is why I hate PC gaming. I spent a lot of money on that stupid PC with research and it didn't. It's not simple.

  1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  2. Persona 5
  3. Okami HD
  4. Assassin's Creed Odyssey
  5. Super Smash Bros Ultimate
  6. Pokemon Ultra Sun

In order of when I played them. I also bought Mario Tennis Aces but got bored with it pretty quickly. Thankfully I got it while it was on sale.

I see Dragon Quest XI is on sale on the PS Store for $35. It's a series I might like to try and I heard that game is pretty good.

My PS4 is currently not hooked up due to me having somehow lost the AC adapter when moving from one room to another. I have no clue how that even happened, but I'll have to buy another one before I get to play games on it. I still haven't finished Odyssey.

Well... I suppose I have to give this one to Assassin's Creed Odyssey. It probably helps that it was my first venture into that series. I've always loved the historical settings of the franchise but have been turned off by the violence. A setting in Ancient Greece was just a little too hard for me to pass up.

Other 2018 games I played for context: Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Tennis Aces, and Okami HD (amazing game, but I would never name a port a GOTY).

2013: Animal Crossing New Leaf (3DS)

2014: Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire (3DS)

2015: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (3DS)

2016: Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice (3DS)

2017: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Wii U)

2018: Assassin's Creed Odyssey (PS4)

Geez, when I think about none of these years were all of that strong except for maybe 2017, which Persona 5 and Super Mario Odyssey were also there. 2015 was so devoid of games that I had to choose a spin-off. A good spin-off, but not necessarily GOTY material. Of the years in this list, only 2013, 2017, and 2018 would even have a second place.

Some of the games released in these years were fantastic, but not much aside from them. lol

The Gameboy Advance SP has been the only one necessary for me, and that's because it added the lit screen.

The Switch's portability makes it a really desirable choice for me to play games on. The problem? There aren't many games. I'm a fan of Nintendo first party titles, and the only actually good first party exclusive (that means, excluding BoTW, which is not an exclusive) of the franchises I'm interested in has been Super Mario Odyssey.

Next year looks potentially promising with Animal Crossing and Pokemon, but 2018 has been such a bad year aside from Ultimate.

A shame. As a Pokemon fan, I can't see anything good coming out of the success of the Lets Go games. *sighs* I knew they'd be a success, but I always wanted to dream that maybe there'd be a miracle of some sort. I guess now I just cross my fingers that LG truthfully has no negative impact on the mainline series in the long run. That'd be a miracle, too, though.
