It is surprisingly hard to get a Diablo like game right. There have been many that have tried, and none really have hit the mark. Diablo and Diablo 2 still have much more presence out there than any of their copy cats.

[QUOTE="the-very-best"]

Your argument is based on sales.

Not every game that sells well is good. Have you played 50 Cent Bulletproof? It sucks, and it sold better than the majority of games last gen, so by your logic, it is one of the best games of the gen.

RotaryRX7

Therefore, this debunks the fact that the Wii is good because of its sales.

It's just selling because of.......why?

You're right, Wii is not good because of sales. It's good because it has titles like SMG, MP3, SSBM, and others.

However, it is winning due to sales.

[QUOTE="King9999"][QUOTE="beastmr2"]Here's a thought. We pretty much know that FFXIII (not versus) is going to be turn based, though highly advanced. I was wondering do you guyz think that once they release a non turned based FF, maybe every one else will do the same?TheLegendKnight

Huh? There already have been real-time console RPGs, and FFXII is real-time. And I don't think RPGs follow FF's lead anymore.

FFXII is not real time, its just you dont stand still in battles, there are still turns, just like earlier FF games you have a bar that fills in time but this time you can change its speed to max to act like real-time but its still the same, turn-based.

That's not the distinction between turn based and real time. All real time RPGs have ability delay, it a must for simple realism and playability. Not sure what to classify FFXII as (been a while since I played it so can't recall the exact function), but ability delay alone does not mean that game X is turn based. Generally speaking, whether something is turn based or real time mostly depends on the enemies. Can you stop them, or temporarily pause them in any way to decide actions, or do you have to decide in real time. That's usually the distinction, not generally your control of your characters.

I'm usually into GT's top 10 lists, but this time they blew it bad. That was a horrible list. Doom 3 in particular has no place in any top 10 shooter list, and frankly neither does bioshock (presentation was great, but the actual shooter parts were blah, SS2 if anything should have been in it's place, or possibly Deus Ex).

EA for one.

Koei - There Dynasty Warriors and Samurai warriors are always rushed rehashed. I admit I'm addicted to these games and use to always buy them. But now they are actually getting worst like EA's Madden games so I just play the old ones. It's a real shame, a nonlinear Dynasty warriors with good group tactical combat(In DW all of your allies are wimps and you have to run around to protect them) I think it could be a beginning of a cool new genre.

Nerkcon

Second that. Koei is squeezing DW and such right down to the blood.

I remember being really, really disappointed with Starfox: Assault...

--ProtoMan--

*bleep*, okay, now you reminded me of my true all time most disappointing game, way worse thatn doom 3, namely STAR FOX ADVENTURE. I had nearly bloated it out of my mind, but damn did it suck and I thought it would be awesome. *shutter* bad memories.

This gen: Hmm... I did find bioshock disappointing, but not to the point that I'd put it high on a list like this (it is overrated though). I think I'd go with Supreme Commander. I still really like it, but it such a performance hog that I just can't get the scope of battles I want out of it. Still, that's mostly because my expectations were very high for it.

All time: Doom 3. So much potential, so little delivery. Certainly not the worst game out there, but pretty weak generally, and I had very high expectations for it.

For me, it depends on the game. If we're talking FFVII-ish types where you only swap forward, no going back ever, then swapping is actually more convenient, and generally there isn't much gained by installing it. Now, if it's Baldur's Gate-ish (PC version), then god, NO, it's awful! Let me install please! I beg of you. The disk swapping in BG nearly ruined it for me (not to mention I damaged a disk).

[QUOTE="therealmcc0y"]another 360 exclusive bites the dustPandaBear86

Its not a 360 exclusive. Its also out on PC.

Good to hear, now I expect to see you in any of those 'console exclusive' threads shooting them down with equal diligence.

Well, this looks to finally be confirmed enough for me to believe. Bit late, but good news for PS3 owners nonetheless. Hopefully this means the sequel will come to PS3 as well and more promptly this time.
