People will pay the money for them. I've used the Apple Mac for various things at school like making a music video and doing some comic stuff. The way I see Apple products is that when they work they're great but when they don't work they are a nightmare. I don't like using itunes at all because it doesn't work that well on normal PCs. People only tend to buy Apple products for social reasons, they're too scared to be different and you fit in if you have an Ipod Nano/touch or Iphone becuase they have become the norm.

If consoles next gen don't offer full installations to the HDD; they are moving backwards.

Storage is cheap, there are great benifits getting around the limitations of optical disks.

Oh god that would be terrible. Consoles aren't PCs, nor should they try to be PCs.

Consoles shouldn't try to be PCs but the full game install to the HDD is one of the best features of the 360. DVD and BD drives are so much slower. To me every game should be installed on the HDD first. Now if we can just get M$ to stop milking out the HDD prices.

That might be avoided (the MS prices) if they choose to let people use whichever HDD they please, I'm willing to bet that the only reason Sony let PS3 users put in whatever HDD they choose is because MS didn't.

I doubt it. I think they might offer it on the side in the form of a separate player. But with all the Hard Drive sizes available you wouldn't need Blu-ray. You can get Harddrives which can contain terabytes of stuff (thats 1000 gigabytes per terabyte). I would put money on MS using large Hard drives like that instead they've already started going down that route, you can install games onto your HDD now and all you need is the disc to play it. Not to mention HDDs are cheap as chips and will get cheaper as they are further developed.

A lot of people who you might find complaining of RROD are those who have had the console for ages and have an old model, so its not wonder it breaks. Most new ones hardly ever break if you treat them well and look after them.

[QUOTE="reverend1985"]

So here is my dilema. I have an old 16 amp Xbox that MS sent me last year refurbished when my first RROD on me. Now I can tell this thing is going because sometimes I get an E74 error and sometimes I get a disc error. Don't wanna fix this stupid thing anymore. So next year I'm getting a new console, just don't know which is best for me. I play a good portion of games, however I really don't d/l games on demand or install them to the HD. Installing to HD though may be something I start doing. I have gamefly and only buy games i really really want.

So that's my question, would it be just better to get an arcade and use my old 20 gig HD, or with the possibility of lots of DLC coming out for new games like AC2, MW2 and Forza 3, should I just splurge and get the elite for the bigger space? Any help would be appreciated. And btw, I'm only collecting unemployment and I'm a student if that helps. Thanks guys

I would buy the Elite but get a memory card and put all your valued saves and stuff from your 20gb HD onto it. Then you can put it onto your new HD which comes with the Elite. Make sure to put your account onto the memory card to transfer that to the Elite though. Also you shouldn't lose your downloaded DLC, as long as you continue to use the same account you can re download it for free as they know you have already paid for it.

Why not get a memory card, put your most valued save files and DLC on that then transfer them to the new Hard Drive.

My 360 has just stopped reading discs, no dust in the back or anything, no overheating either. I put a disc in, the console says 'reading' then after 10 secs it says 'open tray'. I've tried all my games but it doesn't work. I will probably have to find the recipt and return it to Gamestation, good thing I got the Arcade, I can just take off my HD with all my saves etc. Shame that my favourite console this gen is so faulty.
