Every 360 is a time-bomb, people should just accept it, and also not make a big deal out of it tooEgghead360

having gone through 5 360's, and having to suffer through MS's horrible "customer service" I say people should make a very big deal about this. The failure rate, whatever it may be, is clearly too high. That much has been said by MS themselves. Its clearly higher than the industry standards, and they still repair old, failure prone components instead of replacing them with the more efficient ones they currently have at their disposal. I say people should make a very big deal about that. like I said, 5 consoles to get one thats been functional for more than a month. thats a big deal given that its not a small investment. (console accessories, games, live subscription)

This isnt something that people should accept and not talk about, its something users should be screaming at MS to fix.

HAH! I say.

I got my 360 in october... im now waiting for my 5th.. count em 5th console to get back to me.

Ive also had 2 HDDs die on me.

Ive been able to play my 360 for all of 2 weeks since early october, its sad, and theyre nowhere near fixing this issue.

Basically, the story I got from the "elite team" just their specialists, is that they still refurbish boards and components from the launch period. And that (in Canada especially) its a mixed bag as far as repairs go, we just get replacement consoles sent to us. so we never know how new or old it is.

as far as new units go, look for the falcons, you can get some info as to how to actually find them, just need to search the interwebs.

also according to the MS rep, theyve released an even newer revision since the falcons... but hey, maybe he was just blowing smoke.
basically, if you do invest... you may run into a situation like mine.

Id like to think that im just really unlucky, but whenever im at the purolator depot (which is entirely too freaking often) I see at least a couple boxes going to the same repair center ive been sending my Red ringed units to...

just my unfortunate story... but id say its not fixed.

EDIT: as someone mentioned, the halo 3 edition 360s are apparantly guaranteed to be a falcon. so you could go for one of those, at least better your chances at having a working console for more than a week.

legal or not, I say go with a legit wii. If only so you can actually keep your warranty. but more importantly, you should really support the gamemakers you like, thats how they make money. so legality aside, if you want more games you like, buy them, and youre more likely to get them.

[QUOTE="zeldarocks786"]ya but dude i might just keep getting the same thing like before my old 360 would put a ring on my disks and wouldnt read perfectlly new ones sometimes like i dont want just keep going through the hasle and my friend thinks i should call bungie or the store i bought it from (blockbuster) i think thats stupid its not there fault they shouldnt have to pay but anyway ill probally just get a new game again then maybe 360 its just when i returned my old one i put it off so much calling i finally call get the box take forever to put it in finaLLY do then take forever to send it finally do get back in like less than a week but still ill be withoput a 360 for a month i cant go back to justplaying xbox 1 but ya ill probally just new game new 360 IcE-Fu-
you won't get the same 360.. MS changed the insides (smaller motherboard and better fans) of the 360 so it would stop the RROD and other problems people are having (you)

actually, according to their "elite team" (the repair specialists), the reapair centers are still using components from the original itteration of the 360. its kinda hit and miss apparantly.

ive gone through 3 360s in the past 2 and a half months. ive had all of 2 weeks of gameplay time. 2 RRoD 1 just stopped working entirely, just dead. no red ring.

if they were always replacing with newer components, I doubt id have gone through all this.
(granted im in canada, so I just got replacement units, but even still, It doesnt look like they were the newer chips.)

honestly, its not so bad to play with just the wiimote held like an nes controller. jump shoot and shake for grenade.

simply put I say if you like metal slug its worth the money. Ive dropped far more in the arcades than the 40$ I payed for the game at launch.

yea, youre pretty SoL.

but dont feel bad. Ive had my 360 for 3 months but have only been able to play for a week and a half. 3 dead consoles, 3 dead HDDs, just set up a new repair order.

the red ring should come. as for paying. if it does red ring, youre covered, it will be free.

if not, it depends if your warranty has run out or not. just register your console on xbox.com. youll be able to check your console status to see if its still in warranty.

technically, you point at the sensor bar, not directly at the tv. but its not hard to get used to at all. just point, and move relative to where the cursor is positioned.

No one knows any places? I'm still looking but i can't find ones that deliver to the UK!

Torque224

you do know that this ban means that not only can you not buy it but you cant import it either. that may be an issue in terms of delivery.
moreover, (a least here in North america) we get a toned down version, and im pretty sure that that version will be everywhere.. so asfar as getting an uncut version.. I doubt it.. butat least youll be ableto play it.
