It's the only game I'm interested in right now for Wii...and I've been told it's a good purchase, but it has its negatives. Opinions?

I like it, its fun playing with 2 people, you should wait for a price cut, it has been out for a year so I guess a price cut is coming

Wasn't it the first Wii game to be discontinued? It could be hard finding later on.

Also, I heard it controls better on the PS2, and why the heck would you want a Wii for a slightly above average game? I would think you might want it for Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Paper Mario, or something like that. But Metal Slug Anthology? That's kind of strange. I guess everyone has different interests, though.

I didn't really buy it for a specific game...I have mostly VC games, but I'm playing Mario Galaxy right now, though it's borrowed. I just wanted to know if it's worth it is all.

It's awesome, provided that you own a Gamecube controller.

honestly, its not so bad to play with just the wiimote held like an nes controller. jump shoot and shake for grenade.

simply put I say if you like metal slug its worth the money. Ive dropped far more in the arcades than the 40$ I payed for the game at launch.

I think it'sgood. The only bad thing about it is that it doesn't support the classic controller, but the wiimote sideways and the cube controller both work fine.

I just got this the other day. I like shmups so I was sold pretty easily. It is definitely more fun with a friend and the GC control setup is the way to go as someone else mentioned.

Hell yes it is worth it. A bunch of different Metal Slugs, art gallery and soundtrack unlockables. If you don't have this in your library of games, it'll make me cry.

The only bad part would be the controls of flicking a remote to throw a grenade, but that's about it.
Just be sure you understand how to properly save the game, because it will add up save files and increase the ammount of blocks it uses.

I disagree. I have it on an HD LCD TV WITH Component cables and it looks amazing. You can see all the little details and stuff, every pixel of gooey goodness.

i wonder if they have a special tool to convert images into pixal art. thier art is so good but there is so much of it no way they did it all by hand. it must be a tool that converts a low res image to pixels and then some light manual tweaking.

Off Topic, but in Photoshop ( and I forgot how to do this ), after drawing, coloring, or painting, you can set this GIF mode on it where it limits the amount of colors the image will display. Like setting it from 256 to 8 or 30. It gives you that pixely look as seen in old NES games. I don't know if it is all hand drawn, but it is really amazing. And even more amazing than the art, is the super duper amazing ANIMATION. Just WOW.
