it has to do with storing, or discovering recipes..  I havent used it, so im not sure of all the mechanics.  but no,  there is no ds connectivity. its just a nod to the ds.  they do that aaaalll the time in paper mario.   subtle little homages to games and gaming classic and new.

Ok so I finished LOZ:TP like months ago, and my wii is now collecting dust. Whats annoying me though is that no decent titles have come out yet, so im only playing on my 360...and this upsets me. Seems all the wii is getting now is tamagotchi and really bad DS ports. Im not 8 years old either.

Unless im wrong and have missed a few decent title releases?

Please dont say SPM, I hate that game.

Thanks

hama666

you may hate super paper mario. but its still a great game.  youre confusing bad games and games you dont like

regardless, trauma center is great fun, sonic and the secret rings is great as well, obviously, zelda, red steel was good for some entertainment though could have been much better.

rayman raving rabbids, metal slug, super swing golf.

you should also check out madden, ssx, and excite truck.

not to mention the numerous great games on the virtual console.

there are some great titles out there.  just look around, and dont be afraid to try something different,   cooking mama!  also some insane fun.

haha  I love all this virtual reality talk.    I remember in the early 90s that was the big thing, everyone said that in by 2000 home consoles would be all VR...    its just not practical...  every few years people start thinking its gonna happen..  then..  nothing..

dont expect it any time soon.

The Wii games are graphically inferior thus is not next gen in my opinion. Games like Crysis, Stranglehold, R6Vegas, Final Fantasy XIII cannot be runned on Wii hardware. Thus I would say most serious gamers will buy a system that will run these games in conjunction with Wii.

I own a Wii and the games on Wii look horrible compared to my PS3 but thats why I bought a PS3 so I can play games with great graphics. The has great Nintendo franchises. It's priced so low that I can afford it as a second console. Thus it doesn't directly compete.

then by that logic... for example, if the ps3 can peform better graphically than the 360, the 360 would no longer be "next gen" correct?

The Wii is just so dirt cheap that I think most buying on impulse as a toy not a console. I don't know any serious gamer that thinks the Wii is gonna be their only console. KSD22

oh and hi, now you do.

and whats wrong with the wii being a toy. a device that provides enjoyment or pleasure. the ps3 and 360 are also toys.

admitedly some toys are more practical than others.. but being a toy is not a bad thing

Okay I've been seeing a lot of Wii fanboy posts with Wii is this, Wii is that, it's selling, it's great, it's destory PS3, it'll destroy 360, Blah blah blah. I just wanna clear something up for all the Wii fans out there. The Wii is a great system but it is not a true next gen system, I own a Wii and I can tell you that 90 percent of the people I know who own Wiis either have or plan on having an second graphically intense next gen console to compliment the Wii. In other words because of the low Wii price tag and the graphical deficiency the Wii has become a bit of a side system that everyone wants.

I other words I believe that everyone who owns a Wii will at one point of another buy a 360 or a PS3 for more graphically intensive games. Thus the Wii is a in a special position, for the first time ever in a console war a system has managed to secure fans from both sides of the equation.

Personaly I believe most in Japan will end up buying the PS3 once MGS4 and FFXIII comes out because the Japanese cannot live and work and sleep without there Final Fantasy and Metal Gear.

While more Americans will end up buying a 360 once Halo 3 and Mass Effect comes out, because most American cannot function in daily activities without Halo and other AAA FPS.

Thus this console war will be divided between Wii60s and PS3Wiis, with almost all serious gamers owing both a Wii and another next gen console.

So please stop the Wii boasting threads, it will not destroy anyone. It'll be owned by everyone but it will never become this gens true winner as most true next gen titles will not run on the Wii, but doesn't mean you can't have a lot of fun with it.

I personaly have a PSWii combo, and do not buy any multplats on Wii because of the graphical limitations but will get first party Wii exclusives.

the wii is a videogame system, just like the 360 and the ps3,  just cus nintendo isnt limiting their product to a very niche market (and yes the typical gamer is part of a niche market)   does not mean they are no longer competing with the others.

and you must first and foremost define "next gen"    cus I dont see how the wii can be considered anything less than next gen.   not as much horsepower? of course not...    still next gen..  of course.

your logic is essentially,  the wii isnt next gen because it doesnt play next gen games.   but without a definition of next gen, that statement means nothing.

then you go on to say that just because people buy nintendos product as well as someone elses, they cant win.  but that also doesnt make sense.   actually, I would say that nintendo coming out on top even while the consumer is supporting the competition is a very good thing.   an even greater testament to the quality of the system.

More FEATURES - yes.More HORSEPOWER - no.
The Wii is a gamecube with all those features you mentioned. Thats it. Titan_of_NYC

the wii actually is more powerful than the cube.   check out some specs the devs have been claiming the wii has.

moreover the architecture is optimized and streamlined for better performance.   just cus it isnt 900000 times faster that the cube doesnt mean its not an improvement.
