Is this true? I've been hearing that 360s no longer overheat and people who do get RROD got their unit before summer, the period in which the issue was fixed. Of course, no one has backed this up, so it could be just rabbid fanboys spewing nonsense in a pathetic attempt to return honour to a failing system, but I'm still curious...

can anyone give proof that 360s don't rrod anymore?

The problems have gotten better but not fixed completely. I would buy another system if I were you, but if you really want a 360, hold out for now.

Not fixed, but most likely reduced. I'm surprised my console hasn't gotten RROD yet, actually. Been over a year now.

The Halo Edition 360 has it, and that was after summer.

HAH! I say.

I got my 360 in october... im now waiting for my 5th.. count em 5th console to get back to me.

Ive also had 2 HDDs die on me.

Ive been able to play my 360 for all of 2 weeks since early october, its sad, and theyre nowhere near fixing this issue.

Basically, the story I got from the "elite team" just their specialists, is that they still refurbish boards and components from the launch period. And that (in Canada especially) its a mixed bag as far as repairs go, we just get replacement consoles sent to us. so we never know how new or old it is.

as far as new units go, look for the falcons, you can get some info as to how to actually find them, just need to search the interwebs.

also according to the MS rep, theyve released an even newer revision since the falcons... but hey, maybe he was just blowing smoke.
basically, if you do invest... you may run into a situation like mine.

Id like to think that im just really unlucky, but whenever im at the purolator depot (which is entirely too freaking often) I see at least a couple boxes going to the same repair center ive been sending my Red ringed units to...

just my unfortunate story... but id say its not fixed.

EDIT: as someone mentioned, the halo 3 edition 360s are apparantly guaranteed to be a falcon. so you could go for one of those, at least better your chances at having a working console for more than a week.
