You really should consider playing through the first game before you play Silent Hill 3. You'll miss some of the story because the third game is direct continuation of Silent Hill 1. s84
exactly RIGHT SH3 is the sequel to Silent Hill 1 and continues the story from the original game. from my review of Silent Hill 3 here at gamespot: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Silent Hill 3 is a great additon to the series and even better when combined with part 1 verrry scarry indeed! Silent HIll 3 is faaar better if you have played and luv the original since it ties directly into part 1 as a stand alone game its still good but if you include it with part 1 (wich even the SH team said that part 3 was both an extension and conclusion too). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Um, how about Snake's Revenge? Perfect way to destroy the stealth portion of a stealth game.Video_Game_King
Thankfully Snakes Revenge isnt even included in the overall Metal Gear cannon by Hideo Kojima and Kojima productions. Snakes Revenge was made by an offshoot U.S. based konami development studio back in the late 80's and was released under the "Ultra" banner by Konami. Kojima had no input on the game and wasnt involved to any extent and it shows. While Snakes Revenge a truly BAD game it isnt very good either. another Sequel that should have never been made was DEAD TO RIGHTS 2 the first game was decent but part 2 was just horrid and should have never been released, one of the few low points for Namco.

Silent Hill the movie was good. I do hope they improve with SIlent Hill 2 no matter who the director turns out to be. an excellent single story for Silent Hill 2 would be the plot and characters of the actual Silent HIll 2 game.

My review of Silent HiIl 4 here at Gamespot: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Silent Hill 4:the room is a very worthy addtion to the series and a great game for begginers to start out on. Silent Hill 4:the room is slightly different in that the areas are lighted moreso than any other SH and the creatures arent as varied (although some like the ghosts are excellent) but it succeeds in creating the the feel of panic and claustrophobia that Team Silent Hill was going for part in 4. Also keep in mind that Part 4 was an attempt to pull in a more "casual" gamer type since the Silent Hill games already have a very dedicated hardcore fanbase. Therefore SH4:the room is much easier IMO than the previous games and has a slightly lighter tone and Konami made the game lighter and easier to see for those "other" gamers that always made comments like " I cant f#$@% see its too dark" lol I highly recommend this game to the fans of the Silent HIll series and even moreso to those NEW TO THE SILENT HILL GAMES. The areas are much easier to see and the game is not as difficult as the previous games. I enjoyed this one very much and the fact that it is available on both the PS2 and Xbox I suggest that any Xboxers out there that have never played any Silent HIll games pick this one up at a marked down price and if they like part 4 to try out Silent Hill 2:restless dreams also, believe me you wont be dissapointed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Im undecided it will definitely be after a price drop of the Xbox360/PS3 or ill just pick up a Wii if the prices dont drop significantly within the next year or so. the thing is I still have soo many games to play on the PS2 and sooo many more yet to pick up I cant count how many PS2 games I still want to play.

PS2 any gamer worth his or her salt should have a PS2 sooo many great games with an incredibly LARGE variety library. IF you dont have a PS2 then its an obvious choice.
