JRPGs don't do well in America because people, especially the younger generation, simply either are not good at reading or lack the attention span to read. Seriously, practically every male kid between the ages of 6 and 15 plays FPS or Gears of War. There is no way any RPG that doesn't have blood, or guns can get the attention of mainstream children. The only ones that will succeed are the ones that made a name for themselves at least six years ago like Kingdom hearts,Final Fantasy, Star Ocean, Persona.

Not true at all. KOTOR, KOTOR 2, Jade empire, oblivion, fallout 3 and mass effect (which are WRPGs) have an insane amount of dialogue. Yes the majority of it is voiced, but not many people wait for them to say all the lines. Reading is just faster than listening. Of those games Mass effect is probably the only game that I sat through the voice dialogue instead of reading it (for obvious reasons). Not to mention a lot of wrpgs are dubbed with english actors. jrpgs just are very cliche' and redundant.
