I have no clue why we can't just download this thing.

Come on MS, you're falling behind Sony on the digital distribution front.

obviously the game is too big to download. It's more of a hybride of a stand-alone game and an expansion. All I know is it's not going to be like the shivering islands with just different environments they will have to change the gameplay for the UNSC soldiers because they don't have shields.

which one do u trust more. personally its IGN for me since gs is well known for its sony bashin ( 7.5 for wipeout?...dude ..srzly)edit: there's a bit of misunderstanding so let me clarify wat i said, basically i'm just askin for u guy's opinion on which site's rating seems more fair and reasonable. i do not buy games based on ratings alone though they are always a good starting point:)jackanator87

How can you say that they gave mgs4 a 10. The ps3 has 2 10s. And they underrated games like mass effect, 8.5. And twilight princess, 8.8. If you are still wimpering about haze give it up man the game's crap. The reason why the 360 gets the first crack at the multiplatform games is because it is the primary SKU and it has superior online. that said I have to agree IGN is more credible and I would trust them before Gamespot.

gamespot will definitely give it to mgs4. they gave it a 10 after gtaIV so that means (according to them) that it raises the bar above it. I got the feeling that they're going to be hard on the other Holiday contenders like they were on mass effect last year.

I would give it to fallout 3 or fable 2 if they deliver.

I just started playing alone in the dark for xbox 360 and am shocked at how good a game it is

graphics 9/10

story 10/10

gameplay fantastic 10/10

all in my opinion yes, but still how did this game end up with 62% on gamerankings im just frustrated because i saw a few review scores, avoided this game, now have it and finally realise that ive been too dependant on reviews. How many other great games have I missed due to poor reviews?

NO MORE GAME REVIEWS FOR ME!

peace

I can see your reasoning for not wanting to rely on the critics opinion. But when a game is $60 dollars you really don't have much of a choice if you want the best bang for your buck. That is unless you have too much money to know what to do with. The only exception I can think of is if you know the franchise or developer really well, that's where trust comes in. You can do that but don't expect not to get burned a few times at least.

These two developers have have astounded me and many more developers for over a decade of awesome rpgs. Bethesda released it's first game, The Elder Scrolls: Arena in 1994. And Bioware released its first game, Shattered Steel in 1996. I would have included lionhead studios and blizzard in the comparison, but they make more than just rpgs. They tend to have a long history of strategy along with rpgs. Bethesda and Blizzard are the only ones that I know of that basically only do western rpgs.

Bethesda

+ They can create an awesome game atmosphere where the game comes to life

+ They make awesome sequels

+ They always incorporate great graphics

- They don't make many games outside TES series (with Fallout 3 as an exception, which I'm totally getting)

- Their stories lack Bioware's depth

Bioware Pros

+ They are amazing storytellers with awesome plots, twists and turns

+ Great characters and NPCs.

+ Great polish on their titles

- They tend to be weaker from a technical standpoint

- They lack the exploration and interaction that made Bethesda great

I admit this is probably as hard a decision as trying to choose between halo 3 and COD4. We 360 owners know how hard that is. But I would have to side with Bioware on this one. Who really can deliver such a thrilling rpg full of emotion and depth. I had the most awesome rpg experience with KOTOR.

:Spoiler:
When you find out you were the dark lord Revan the entire time I was like OMG.
Or in Jade empire when your master betrays you. They always have subtle hints to the main plot which always makes sense in the end.

:Spoiler end:

Maybe when Fallout 3 comes out my opinion will change but for now Bioware narrowly is still my favorite rpg maker. Not to say bethesda isn't awesome or anything. I would be sad if either of them stopped making games for the 360 and PC. So by all means tell me your opinion of the two.
