try sacred 2

Agreed. My buds and I got a lot of miles out of Sacred 2. Should be way cheap by now, too.

I'm really digging the Gioteck HF-2. Bluetooth, solid triggers, solid sticks, and you can adjust the sticks via firmware. They put some thought into this controller.

Its the same game...

same weapons...

same multiplayer style....

same cinematics....

no new innovative things.

Um... you just described pretty much every FPS out there. I revise that. There are no exceptions. That's every FPS out there. Anyone who thinks otherwise is looking through fanboy-shaded glasses.

Like it or not, a producer is not going to let a dev break a (successful) mold.

Okay, so I'm dating a girl who actually likes playing certain videogames, and wants to play with me. The only problem is, she has a different taste in games than I do. She is really big into platformers (such as ratchet and clank), where I prefer more RPG or strategy games. I'm not saying I don't like platformers (I do), just if I had to pick between ratchet and clank or Mass Effect 2, I would pick ME:2. She wants to play more games together, and I plan on getting the new R&C game when it comes out, but I'm looking for something with good local multiplayer that you think would fit her type of game play. Since I'm more of a single player, or online shooter type of gamer I don't know where to begin. Any good suggestions on multiplayer games that would be good locally for both a hardcore gamer (me) and just a casual gamer (her)? PSN or hard disk suggestions are welcome. THANKS!

Man, you just described my wife to a T. She loves the platformers, but has zero patience for most of the games I like to play (FPS, RPG, etc). My advice? Get a Wii and buy New Super Mario Wii, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, and Kirby. Galaxy 2 has a Co-op part of it that is somewhat interesting. Kirby's Epic Yarn is painfully cute (but then that's all of Nintendo's stuff), but that's a great game, too, and it is a traditional couch co-op game.

Just be ready to play some Killzone 2 or 3 or Black Ops afterwards to make you feel right again.

Also, if getting a Wii is not an option, I suggest our old stand by... the Lego games. They are extremely simplistic, but do the job and are entertaining enough. Plus, you can get Lego Batman, Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Star Wars Trilogy and maybe even the newer Lego Pirates of the Caribbean games for relatively cheap.

Ultimately, if you find a casual/co-op game a bit boring, remember: it is worth every second if your significant other is gaming with you. Support it for sure. Because there are many other girls out there that would love nothing more than hate on your gaming.

Having just finished Brotherhood, I have an interesting perspective.

I really enjoyed this latest game, but "the truth" minigame was not as involved as it was in AC2. I did like the improvements made around shops, and the upgrade system was a nice touch, but somehow that whole system came off weaker than it was in AC2... not as much art to buy.. not as much of a progression in "shop quests" as I would have liked.

I also liked that you could mark a location based on the menu system (for glyphs, etc). And thankfully they added menu indicators for flags and feathers. I just skipped most of them in AC2 and gave up on flag locations quickly in the first. Too many hidden too well with little to no indicators in the first AC.

Overall, I think Brotherhood improved upon an already amazing game in AC2. My nod goes to Brotherhood.

I've been running on an HD LCD for several years, first with a 27" LCD, then a 42". I'd opt for the 42" 1080p TV. 3D is nice, but a bigger full-HD picture is preferred. In fact, I'm starting to look around for 47" deals to upgrade that 42"....

Deals can be had out there, and they will probably only get better as we get closer to Christmas.

I have the same exact console, but mine is working great. Shocked yours has problems, considering the CoD LE console had the best components at the time.

Fix it yourself or go on to craigslist and find someone to fix it for $40. I think that's the going rate no matter where you live. The drive itself costs like $20, and Random Dude Everywhere is making $20 in labor on a fix that takes the guy about 20 minutes to do.

That's my advise. Good luck.

Doesn't work after CoD, you say? I think your controller(s) were the victim of some rage quit smashing, maybe?

Seriously, though, these controllers are tanks and fantastic all around. You had some bad luck.

Only criticism I can come up with is the D-pad could be better, I suppose The only problem i ever had was having to replace a rechargeable battery pack 2 years ago. Opted to just use the rechargeable AA's I have on hand for other electronics, and no problems since. Best controller of this generation by miles.
