I'm used to the DS just fine, I just don't prefer it for FPS. Oddly, I prefer it for any 3rd person or platformer games, because all my PS2 gaming.

Just doesn't work for FPS.

Ok, i'm not looking to start a system warz battle, but i feel the Dual Shock is just not as good as people think it is. Trigger placement is terrible, overall layout is last gen... it just makes some games unplayable IMO.

It's okay, it's just that the controller was designed before there ever was a FPS. And I can't play any FPS on that thing.

...

SO. What 3rd party controller is better? I'm thinking of picking up the Gioteck HF-2, and want to know if anyone has tried it. It's blootoof, so that means it should work fine (and without lag).

Thoughts?

From what I understand, New Vegas uses the Fallout 3 engine. Because the Xbox version of Fallout 3 rated SLIGHTLY higher than the PS3 version, it seems to me a safer bet to go with the Xbox version. Add to this the fact that you collect achievements (like I do), and you will likely have buyer's remorse if you get the PS3 version and miss the bloop during anticipated bloop moments in New Vegas.

Normally I would say PS3 in a single player game, but in this case it may be safer to go with history. That said, I don't think the differences were all that great, so it may not even matter. Except for the bloop.

I have my 360 plugged into an Olevia LCD "TV" using its VGA input. It may be 42", but it is essentially a monitor for the purpose of this question. You will dig the added clarity for sure.

BTW, I found the VGA adapter at Target with a shiny red close-out sticker over a year ago. I never saw the adapter anywhere else since.

While the whole active download thing makes sense, that's not it. This happens to me 1 out of every 8-10 times i shut down. I don't think it has anything to do with downloads, because I don't allow my system to download trial versions anymore.

Personally I think it has to do with the shutdowns the system has to do. Because he 360 is basically a computer, and think about how your computer shuts down systematically over a 5-10 second span... using a Microsoft operating system.

Just my theory, don't know for sure. But it makes the most sense. Why it doesn't do that identical shut down every single time.. now that's the real question.

i traded in last years madden and ncaa football. warhawk, time crisis 4 and burnout paradise. and ended up getting like $55 for it. i know not a ton but i used it for the collectors edition of madden, so i really only paid $40 for my copy of madden.

SpYkMo

I don't understand why anyone would trade in Paradise at this point. They are adding new content through the next months and it already is the best racer on any system. Silly IMO.

At least sell it on eBay so you get some decent duckets for it.
