@vegard1985 Are you basing this on experience, or the video/screenshot comparisons? Trust me, there actually is a pretty steep difference between Medium and Ultra, despite what people were claiming last week. Ultra is not absolutely stunning, but it's nice. It's totally wrong to say the game looks "bad" -- this is not true at all.

@turbojugend16 Pretty much. You could say the same of ACIV, and it's actually pretty similar. There's a revenge story going on, and I don't care about it, much as I didn't care about Edward Kenway. However, I really enjoyed ACIV as a game, and I'm really enjoying WD as well.

@prats93 @PayneKiller WD is good. The most fun I've had in any GTA-a-like game is still Sleeping Dogs though. The industry owes Rockstar a debt, but I simply don't agree that they're "way ahead of the competition". They're making competent, slightly disappointing games just like their peers.

It depends on what you're hoping for. The revenge story is very dull, and it's impossible to care about these characters. However, it's a good kind of bad story; I don't hate the story, it's just unengaging, so I almost ignore it and just do the task at hand. As for as the actual action goes, it's good. It's a great game world.

@handofkain @PayneKiller I've been playing it since last night. It's good so far, and seems to deserve the 8/10.

@geosurface @metroid_dragon "And you certainly don't want a site which is letting politically correct considerations seep into their reviews, particularly their GTA reviews."

Yes I do. That's why I'm on Kotaku more than anywhere else, they have the guts and brains to take a stand. If GS goes that way too, I might come back here more often.

@FAIL_TR0LL Or the patchy story? Occasional problems with the mission design? Glitches? Pacing? Take your pick. The game is awesome, maybe the best of the year, but it's not perfect. It didn't get docked for political issues, you've just decided that it did.

@vadagar1 Kids that young make up only a small slice of the market. The core gaming community, especially that of games like GTA, is mostly older people in their late 20s/30s. Average age is 30 according to the ESA!.

@DSylvester13 @salvucci91 Define "everyone"? Slavery was illegal in many parts of the world and was considered thoroughly evil by many people from Washington's cultural heritage. Thomas Paine was thoroughly against it. Men like Washington would have heard Paine's thoughts but they chose to ignore them. We can and should judge them on that.

@j-bldes You won't like the main AC3 game then. The game gives a balanced picture of his as a man with some good qualities and some extremely bad ones.
