is there a program, similar to GFWL, that lets you talk to your XBL friends while playing a non-GFWL game? I saw one person on youtube download a game from GFWL marketplace called Tinker and alt-tab'ed , but I'm not sure if that will affect performance of any other games I'm playing.

The main problem is that GFWL doesn't have party chat support, only private chat support, so you'd only be able to talk to 1 friend at a time.

[QUOTE="dakan45"][QUOTE="RandomGSer"] You have 17k posts and a beasty rig. You must be fairly into gaming. SURELY its not to much to ask you to take FIVE MINUTES and learn how to use a dedicated server browser. The browser in CoD4 was never perfect but using the filters and add to favourites button you can get at least a few populated servers up of your fave gametype/maps in SECONDS. In the long run it will save you literally HOURS of wasted lobby time. l2pfpsSF_KiLLaMaN
Dude i am not an idiot. I have been playing CS with dedis since 1.4. I already explained, last time i checked, the browser is filled with mods. Same goes for counter strike. Unless you got a server in your favorites, its next to impossible to find what you need.

I'm pretty sure you can turn mods off with the filter in CoD 4....

In fact, it defaults to off, so unless you manually change it yourself, you would never find modded servers in the first place.

To Dakan45,

If you seriously think CoD4's multi-player sucks because it has too many modded servers, then you are kidding yourself. One of the biggest advantages of PC gaming is the ability to customize your game. If you don't want to play modded servers, don't play them, it may take a minute or two to set up your filters and find a decent server, but that's the exchange you make on PC. If you want the console experience, get yourself and Xbox with a XIM3, plug it into your monitor, and boom, you will have console gameplay with keyboard+mouse for every game you'd want. There are thousands of servers in CoD4 without mods and thousands with them,

I wouldn't be shocked if the PC version still ends up with dedicated servers. The no-dedicated servers comment was probably in response to a lot of console players complaining about the poor hit detection in Black Ops, and now they are demanding dedicated servers themselves.

I doubt that a return to the PC is their "huge announcement" but I would be very excited to see NHL 12 on the PC, I'd definitely buy it, as long as it is the same version the consoles get and not another repackaged NHL 2005.

I went with Goldeneye, I think Halo is a better game but I mostly played the PC version because I jumped on the bandwagon pretty late and it had online multi-player.

There is third party hardware out there that lets you use a keyboard and mouse in Xbox 360 games. I personally own a XIM 3 and love it, it pretty much made console FPS games about a million times better for me.

A friend of mine got in and has been playing it quite a bit. He said he doesn't like it as much as the earlier games in the series, mainly due to the cartoonish graphics, but that it is still a great game with a tried and true formula.

Not much breaking information there but better than nothing :P

I'd have to say the original Half-Life, with Half-Life 2 not far behind.

[QUOTE="magnusm1"][QUOTE="Xbox360Gamer15"]steam sucks anyway, I wouldn't wanna play games with the evil people that are on steamXbox360Gamer15
Are you a butthurt console-player, or what?

I only play consoles...i only use pc for internet

Lol, maybe you should try a few PC games before you knock a huge and diverse community. Many PC players would say the same thing about the XBL community.

Saints Row 2 - somewhat active, easy to get into games still
Soul Calibur 4 - a few people here and there but by no means popular
FAR CRY 2 - still fairly active but i wouldn't call it popular
TEKKEN 6 - same as Soul Calibur, not as popular as it should be, I found myself playing a lot of players from Japan, 'twas a laggy mess
WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2009 - Maybe a few people here and there but I doubt you'll find much in terms of multiplayer on this game
Red Faction: Guerrilla - not deserted but games still go on
Need for Speed - Hot Pursuit - still active for a racing game
LOST PLANET 2 - still active
LEFT 4 DEAD 2 - still active
Red Dead Redemption - still very active
WOLFENSTEIN - not sure
OPERATION FLASHPOINT 2 - Dragon Rising - it has a cult following still
James Bond 007 - Quantum of Solace - almost always deserted
James Bond 007 - Blood Stone - had only a few players around the launch and thats about it, rather disappointing
Borderlands - people still play this but only with friends
Bioshock 2 - still somewhat active
Split/Second - not sure
BLUR - not sure
Condemned 2 - Bloodshot - no idea.
CALL OF DUTY - Modern Warfare 2 - very very very active, easily top 5 in most played games on xbox
