Yea, it's got a pretty steep learning curve. You should probably invest some time playing single player til you get a little more used to it. A week or two will work wonders.

Yea like he said a week or two maybe, then you should be better than decent. I prefer the 360 controller over a mouse and keyboard any day myself.

You'll probably get used to it and find that the control stick works quite well for aiming once you ge the hang of it. Welcome back to console gaming!

If you're looking for recommendations on 360 FPSs or third-person shooters, which also use the right control stick to aim, my favorites include:

Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 (3rd person shooters/RPGs)

Dead Space and Dead Space 2

Call of Duty games

Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, and Halo: Reach

Another suggestion-- you might want to try playing the games on Easy until you get accustomed to a control stick, although I don't know how long that will take.

There is third party hardware out there that lets you use a keyboard and mouse in Xbox 360 games. I personally own a XIM 3 and love it, it pretty much made console FPS games about a million times better for me.

You'll get used to it. I can go between both fine now but when I first got into it I found it really hard to play higher difficulties with my controller. Now it's easier than the mouse and keyboard to me

Why did you have to buy a new GPU every six months? I've had the same graphics card for two years and it still runs everything I play at max settings (minus DX11). As for the controller issue, I think it's just whatever you're used to. I've used a controller all my life and i prefer it over anything else. I bought my first gaming PC two years ago. I hate using the KB&M for anything other than RPG's. I don't play RTS games.

My experience was similar. I was a PC gamer, also got tired of upgrading all the time, and switched back to consoles this generation. Now I find it really hard to go back to WASD and the mouse. I know it's a little more accurate with the mouse, but man using a game pad is so much more easier on the hands for long periods of gaming.

I felt the same way, except opposite. I was so used to the 360 controller than using a mouse and keyboard felt very strange. I actually prefer the controller myself.

You get used to it just like anything else. I felt that way when going from xbox to ps3.

You changed a video card every six months? Why on Earth are you lying about videogames?

Don't forget about the modded controllers which the COD community is notorious for. I playwith a plain old controllerand I swear people have some weird advantage sometimes and I attribute that to Modded controllers. Remember that when you're getting owned relentlessly.

I would take mouse and keyboard over any controller any day. I prefer precision over wasting ammo and not being able to hit anything when I want to.

I like the xbox 360 controller best of all the consoles. But I am still not totally used to it compared to keyboard and mouse gaming. No matter how good of aim i get on controller I am always 10000x better on KB/M.
