@Mogan: the ps5 and xbox one X2?have to be backwards compatible, and I bet the ps4 and Xbox One will be supported into that generation as well. Hard reseting your user base every 6 years is a ridiculous strategy.

Fall 2020 methinks. 2021 and 2019 are possible, but 2021 is more likely of the two.

On the playstation side, the ps4 is doing extremely well, and the ps4 pro has room to grow. Next year they can cut the pro price to $300, then follow up with a slim pro the year after. After that, they announce the ps5. Matk cerny won’t allow a ps5 without significant memory and CPU increases, which won’t happen for a while.

On Microsoft’s side, generations are dead. Don’t expect a Xbox two, expect an Xbox One Z. And with the X just launching, 2020 is the earliest we’ll see the next one, but more likely 2021.

I’ve been surprised at everything they put in there. What from EA isn’t in there? Even BF1 is in there! I’d bet on SWBF2 being in there within a year

Its true, most pc gamers don’t play at 4k. It makes a lot of sense for consoles, where you are playing on a TV. 4k gaming is the next logical step.

On PC things are different. You could go 4k, or you could go 1440p165hz. Or you could go 1080p240hz. Or ultra wide 1440p at 100hz. I know of almost know one who would take 4k out of all of those 4 options. Most people would go with 1440p with or without ultra wide and take the high refresh rate.

Its not that they can’t play at 4k, its that high frame rate is better. Contrary to popular belief. PC gamers care about gameplay and frame rate more than resolution.

Just bought the premium pass. They dropped the price to $30 and with Origin Access or EA access you get another 10% off. If you're like me and you already got your money's worth out of the base game, I think now is the time to get premium.

X1 looks like a great product for a certain demographic, but I have to say, it kinda sucks that you have to wait for a patch to use better hardware. Microsoft is being smart by forcing 16xAF, unlocking most of the performance, and using the extra RAM to increase loading times, because these things will make older games look and run better even without a patch, but if you favorite games don't get patched, then you are stuck paying $500 for a somewhat small upgrade. I'd be pissed if I dropped $500 on a new GPU for my PC and only half of my games ran any better.

I want something like this, but more than a year after release, and I can't help but feel like I should wait for the Vive 2.0 in a year or two.

VR adoption is in a tricky spot. Lots of people want it, but its expensive, and everyone wants the next version, not today's model. We are still waiting for games, but games won't come until people buy them. Its a difficult thing.

Worst review of a graphics card I've seen in a while. A grand total of 6 benchmarks with zero coverage of thermals, noise, or overclocking, the three categories that matter most when picking which specific card to go with.

The review is worthless.

If you want a serious review, I recommend Guru3d for lots of data and benchmarks, and Gamersnexus for thermal, noise, and accoustic analysis.

If you factor in noise, thermals, and OCing, the Asus Strix and MSI cards are some of the best. Both a rewell built, the MSI is very quiet and the Asus is very cool and efficient. That Zotac on the other hand is the worst cooled card on the market for its price (see Gamersnexus review). If you overclock your card (which you should) and you care about noise at all, this is the worst card to buy, and yet Gamespot recommends it!

Stick to games unless you are going to go more in depth or offer a unique perspective, besides what we already know: the higher clocked card runs faster.
