You really need to play more than the first two hours. It gets a lot better, you just need to give it a little more time. Also, judging by the rest of your post, I can safely say you've never played Super Metroid.

Zophar87

I'm confused. What did he write to make you think he never played Super Metroid?

The amount of advertising and development which went into the game would suggest that selling anything under 1m would be a dissapointment.

Microsoft generates over a billion dollars in revenue on gold subscriptions alone. They'd be crazy to make gold free.

Wow, I didn't realize U.S. Marines wore cyber suits that took incredible amounts of damage and augmented their strength to super human levels.TheLordMagnus

I don't believe samus's suit gives her super strength. Also, how should having armor differnitate your motive to using range weapons or using melee weapons?

Or the fact that this is a video game and you compared it to real life combat.TheLordMagnus

Our definition of "True Warrior differs"

You think it's the hollywood style action hero, who would finish off his/her enemies in a dramatic and flashy style.

I think it's a warrior who effectivley defeat enemies using cunning tactics and strategies regardless of how they do it.

Fighting at range is not always an option for Samus...especially in close corridors. Its pretty stupid to think her enemies are going to stay at arm's length all the time where she can just wail on them with range weapons.TheLordMagnus

It worked for her in the previous metroid games.

I haven't played Other M, but its definitely the first Metroid game that involves physical combat and that's more of how I imagine Samus being able to fight. In the old games, Samus didn't have physical combat abilities simply because of game limitations, and the Prime series didn't have it because of the first person perspective. While I enjoyed the Prime series, the games really failed to show Samus as a true warrior.TheLordMagnus
Why the hell would anyone use physical attacks when you have perfectly good ranged ones? Do you see US marines running around with bayonets attached to their guns? And if by chance they did, it would be a last resort weapon, not a primary one.

[QUOTE="kinger256"]Kratos is badass while samus WAS badass before this game and because of that i don't get the feeling at all.GabuEx

you mean not displaying emotions makes you more of a bad@$$ than one that does? I don't know about you but Samus was killing things like crazy in Metroid Other M.

Apparently; if I understand the game's detractors correctly who say this, it would seem as though being afraid of the seemingly unkillable monster who murdered the entire planet on which you lived as a child makes you helpless and weak.

Samus, a bounty hunter, confronts ridley, who she has beaten on several occasions before, and now, for no apparent reason, she goes into a mental breakdown, where her suit dissipates due to a lack of willpower (who the hell would design a suit like that?). Does that sound right to you?

Gameplay wise, I feel it combines the best of both worlds(Super Metroid and Prime). As other people said, keep playing it. In it's core gameplay it's still a metroid game.

IW only planned for 2 map packs. They won't be making anymore.
