Graphically, even with mods- I've always thought the game was severely overrated. The lighting is very fancy, but the texture work? Extremely poor even for its day.
BUT!! With that said, the game itself is probably in my top 5 of all time. I end up playing through it a time or two every year. It doesn't overstay its welcome at all. The first 2/3rds is sandboxy enough, that it just keeps you engaged. 2 was kindof a dissapointment, essentially being a reboot. But I loved 3.
@xenomorphalien: It didn't explain anything new, no. We already knew the plans for the death star were stolen by the rebels. That literally was the story. 'Rogue one' tried to make a 'epic' about stealing 'plans...' It really was like one of those cheap 'hey theres something big and new! heres a me too comic!' but just on the big screen.
Doesn't make it a bad movie on its own. But both it and 'force awakens' are essentially fan movies when you get down to the nitty gritty.
The gpu deal ain't bad. But requiring a i5 3570 is pretty big. So many people still rocking the i5 2500k and doing well. Maybe it'll still work fine for those. Making my 4690k going to be the requirement in a year or so to come xD
Think about a glorious pc release! Super smooth textures that will remain clean for years to come. 'and yes, I have mine plugged up to my tv. so don't hand me that ;-)'
Its between this, the kingdom hearts remasters, and ff15 that make me kinda jealous not to have a console.
Hope they bounce back and give some competition with these! Intel has been able to get away with overpricing, due to lack thereof.
Sure there were 'slightly' upgraded models, but that 8320/8350 line was the last big hurrah from AMD. And that was back in 2012. Think of AMD would release console-like APUs for the pc. The current ones, are so severely underpowered.
So this will be like most horror films in the past 20 years. I'll be rooting for the murderous villian 'predator' to take out the squad of pansies.
I don't get whats happened to Shane Black. He goes from writing the amazing 'Lethal Weapon' movie series in the 80s. To a horrible troll of a movie with Iron Man 3. 'The Nice Guys' and now this?
Not sure I'd call a 1070 'midrange' by any means. A 1060, why sure! And that goes for 200$ cheaper easily. 180$ on the low end. People say a 1060 is close to a 980. My 980 plays everything at 1440p, easily. 1080p? Beyond new directs or whatever incompatibilities, theres easily many years of life left in the card.
And 120$ on the case? You're already doing it wrong. I've had the same 30$ nzxt full size 'but nice' case for 5 years now.
Lastly, 80$ for a 550w psu is overpriced. Yes, it is gold rated. But for one card, you don't need gold rated psus to begin with. The 40$ evga 500w psu is plenty. Maybe spend the 10$ to get 600w if you plan to overclock.
That already cuts 300$. 'now this is a personal thing. if you don't plan on doing emulation, a 200$ amd 8320/mobo combo on newegg is a great midrange cpu option for gaming. Cuts another 100$ on the price. Then another 50$, since you only need ddr3 ram.
Think about Batman Vs Superman. I, personally enjoy it a good bit. People that hate it, say its because its not a big wise cracking, light hearted, or 'fun' movie. Like basically the entire marvel cinematic universe is. Its almost entirely a dark and brooding movie. Hey! I quite like and can get into movies like that. I don't need someone to crack a joke in the middle of battle, to lighten the mood. But the wider audience, perhaps? Look at the Justice League trailer. Its got a light rock song, jokes everywhere. People seem psyched for it. Even the Nolan-verse, had plenty of jokes.
A bunch of violence and gore, sure. But do we really want to see simon belmont, alucard, dracula, or sypha having some big sex orgy? Seems all your new 'edgy for the kids!' shows can't get away from a bunch of comedic sex. Then again, we do have 'DaNasty' in castlevania 3 ;-)
People give porn a bad name all day long. But when they see sex on game of thrones, they defend it with 'deep, passionate.' Sure...
