I'll agree that more ps3 games need online, but i could care less about all these features. All i want, is to go into a lobby, select a game, and play. Thats it. Thats an advantage the ps3 has, because most xbox live games are all only matchmaking games. All i really want, is my mgs4 and upscaling of dvds and ALL games, and my purchase of the ps3 is well spent.

Wow, there ain't much for nintendo systems on this list. I'd only play the pokemon games, and mortal kombat. The rest can just float on. Also, why is the ds web browser not out till june? Japan has had it for months. Dang, nintendo always puts america lower than japan.

lol, About everyone on here said "like people really care about backwards compatibility". *i guaranteed it that people would be saying that* Well i got news for you, they do. If people are paying about 800-900$ for a system, of course they want to play the back catalog. Plus many people have defected ps2 systems, with games left over that they can go back too. My av out on my ps2 is jacked, so it has lines everywhere meaning playing it on my ps3 is a big benefire.

Lots of games on this list are coming out really soon, like crackdown which is kindof dumb to have on the list. My picks *1 per platform*, metal gear solid 4, halo 3, super mario galaxy, and crysis.

Ugh, gamespot!!! Every other feature has been really great, but you forgot something major on this list. Where is ridge racer 6? You have games from last year on here that arent 20$ or less but yet you forget such a great game thats 20$ like ridge racer 6?

To mytharis... Games and most blu-ray movies will play in 1080p. Just some movies wont play in 1080p in the future. If you wanna bash something, bash on how the xbox 360 has NO hdmi output on any system. The 500$ is basically a 100$ upgrade for blu-ray and better games and graphics. The 600$ is for the ones who have an hdtv with hdmi which isnt exactly big in numbers on how many people have it.

Put san andreas in 16bit mode, and you can run it in about any hardware thats not worse than a geforce 3 system. Doom 3 runs pretty good on about all systems. Unreal tournament 2004 runs good on most computers. Painkiller does also, but if you install the expansion pack- both the original and expansion run much slower. Max payne 1 and 2 run good on my laptop and its built in video card is absolute trash. Quake 4 isnt very demanding, but somehow prey is very hardware demanding on my machine. All the half life games, except lost coast, run good on most machines as does the legacy of kain series on pc. *note for quake 4 and doom 3- do turn off shadows. i noticed it really doesnt make the games worse as much as people say it does. it leaves a bunch of shadows on, but turning ones like your characters and enemies shadows off. most of the environment shadows are always on even when shadows are turned off. it helps framerates tremendously*

Still to early to tell, but even in the retail versions not all games will work. I seriously doubt games like doom 1-final will work anymore. Lower known games probably wont work at all either.

If vista was better on backwards compatibility, id try it but there are many older games i love to play. Take games like american mcgees alice, quake 2, and doom 1/2. They probably wont play on vista at all. From the reports given, vista will only play recent games like half life 2 and stuff. The pack in games dont look much different from each other.

Gosh my geforce fx 5200 wont run this game barely at all lol. So when it mentioned earlier in this guide if your computer can run prey or quake 4 it can run this...thats wrong. My computer can run those 2 games fine but this game, all settings at low-off and at 640x480, it gives me about 5-10 frames a second.
