Your post fails due to the sarcasm.  Bold = reasons why.

Whoopity doo!  So, hermits are basically saying the following..."The developers made their games so poorly, that user-created mods are the only way to enjoy our PC games and the only true way to own the console gamers by making this point?"

Mods are a bonus.  They can make games better.  Is Half-Life broken because there are so many mods?

Yeah, hermits have better graphics.  Warning.....Heavy sarcasm ahead.

"Let me just shell out another $600 for the lastest greatest graphics card yet again.  I'm just gonna go sit in my computer chair with both hands locked tight...one on the keyboard and one on the mouse.  I sure hope my game doesn't freeze again, or yet another Windows update happens while I'm playing it.  It doesn't matter though.  Because I've got my amazing $2000 computer I need to upgrade in some form every 2-3 years to keep up with the PC crowd

Again, if you get something top of the line it will run as good as it can.  Console games also look worse as PC games look better on maxed out systems but that old top of the line system will run it as best as it can and if it looked better than console before, it still will do the same thing.  2-3 years is fine though.  At least you didn't do the classic "DURR EVARY SIXX MUNTHS!"

My tiny computer speakers are so much better than my bose speakers hooked up to my console.  Oh, that's right...I can use my bose speakers with my PC.  But wait...the sweet spot for full surround sound is in the center of my room...right where my comfortable recliner is in front of my 50 inch HDTV for console gaming.  Oh! Who cares right?  I'll just have to either move my bose speakers to accomade the "digital surround" atmosphere for my PC, buy some new good speakers for my PC to hook up and find somewhere to place them in my tiny room, or leave it be.

Now this is just crap.  I don't even know where to begin it's so bad.

Oh well....at least I have my amazing uber PC to look forward to no matter what!  I mean, I just love gaming in my chair.  Nothing beats it.  I'd rather game on that chair than my relaxing recliner I have set up for my console games.  Heck, I'll just get rid of my recliner altogether.  I need to stay straight and have good posture when being a PC gamer...but that's fine and dandy because PC gaming is soooo much better anyway.  My PC monitor is only 19 inches, but hey...that's just great, because I have to sit so close to it anyway to accomated both my hands for the mouse and keyboard.  I don't care that my hands are cramped and uncomfortable while gaming on my PC.  Because I know I'm getting the ultimate experience.

Chairs can be comfortable.  Get a better chair.  Mine sure is comfortable.  19" is great, especially at better resolutions that that console in the living room.  Why waste a 50" TV on 720p when you can go and get higher resolutions on your monitor.  Better image.  And seriously, you don't need your face in the monitor to play games.  Mouse and keyboard uncomfortable?  Well, then you should invest in comfortable ones.  Same thing as your recliner.

All in all, who needs a big HDTV, a recliner, and a comfortable control scheme when I can shell out $600 every 2-3 years for the latest uber graphics that are a little better than consoles.  Who needs comfort when Crysis will destroy the sheep, cows, lemmings to eternity...And oh yeah....WE HAVE TEH MODS !!!"

Big HDTV but inferior resoultion, recliner vs. comfortable chair, comfortable control scheme?  Only if it's a 360.  Plus it depends on your keyboard and mouse.  My MX518 is really comfortable.  Little bit better?  Hah.

Gotta love hermits

Gotta love console gamers.

Oh, that's right...I can use my bose speakers with my PC.  But wait...the sweet spot for full surround sound is in the center of my room...right where my comfortable recliner is in front of my 50 inch HDTV for console gaming.  Actually the sweet spot is three feet from each speaker. I don't care that my hands are cramped and uncomfortable while gaming on my PC.  Dont claw the mouse and keyboard then. Because I know I'm getting the ultimate experience.

Who needs comfort Again, buy a good computer chair and quit clawing the mouse and keyboard. when Crysis will destroy the sheep, cows, lemmings to eternity...And oh yeah....WE HAVE TEH MODS !!!" There are some really, really good mods out there. Dont knock them until you try them.

Gotta love hermits

Epic Win.

Your point? I'm not insulting them I just said that I think they aren't anything special.

CS, DoD all were mods.  Nothing special there?

[QUOTE="sonicare"]Congratulations.  You win most ignorant and racist post of the week.AgentA-Mi6

I love the U.S but their rpgs are inferior :(

Fallout alone is more RPG than any jRPG.  I like jRPGs but they're more like action-adventure gamews with numbers.

Explain the games I posted, then.

Sure won't play those.

Missing out on Fallout?  Don't be like me.  Play it.

WoW is an MMORPG, don't compare it to singleplayer rpgs.Dahaka-UK

You can solo it.

[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"]Most of the greatest RPG's ever made were made by people in North America. Square seems to be losing touch with the FF series. JRPG's in general seem to be losing touch.Redmoonxl2

Unfortunately, JRPGs are simply catering to anime freaks on all sides while failing to advance gameplay. There are some exceptions to the rule but overall there are just too many clones and pretenders.

It's a sad truth.

Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition

I'd give it to Doom, simply because it has a lot of soul, mastered sound design, and loads of monsters to fight. It wasn't until Resident Evil 4 (about 11 years later!!) that a game could make me feel badass one level and nearly wet myself the next. One can't forget all that it did for the genre and in some cases, gaming in general, such as interactivity with the environment, non-orthogonal corners, lighting effects, deathmatch and co-op over ethernet, multiple heights. Its use of sprites allowed it to pack dozens and dozens of enemies onscreen (one .wad file had 702 Cyberdemons in the same room, and even when they were all walking and attacking, with the sound effects echoing, and rockets flying, leaving smoke and debris behind, it still didn't have a noticeable framerate drop). By itself, the engine behind Doom's been surpassed, but thanks to updates (source ports, mods, and levels), Doom's moved into the 21st century with features like jumping, freelook, and chasecam. One of my personal favorite source ports is Skulltag, with loads of modes and stages, along with freelook, jumping, and the ability to summon up to 32 bots for multiplayer or co-op. Not to mention that you can use mods like The Simpsons, Pokemon, or Ghostbusters and many more. You all know Doom was the first game with a huge mod community, right?

Doom's my favorite, because as this post proves, I can't ever stop talking about it. There's always a memorable moment.

Game_Addict247

Sorry, but Doom had no interactivity besides hitting switches, doors and elevators.

It will be.  I always play K&M, did that for MGS 1 PC but this one needs it for some odd reason.  Too hard with the keyboard/mouse controls.  Good game, kinda shoddy port.

X-Com UFO Defense/Enemy Unknown...      It's *easily* the best game EVER made, PC or otherwise.  SuperBeast

FACT.  FACT.  FACT.  FACT.

Nothing comes close to X-Com.  That game hasn't been surpassed even today.

Fantastic game.

I'd get University from a gameplay point, since it gives your Sims more wants, Nightlife is good with it's additions.  I'd also get Seasons.  Open for Business is really tedious but it can be fun and Pets, well, the appeal lasted a short time for me.  Seasons is my favorite though.

Anyone who wanted to play RE4 has already on PS2 or GC.

Sorry sheep.

mentzer

I've played it on the Gamecube but I don't own it so I'll be getting it for Wii.  The controls alone make it great and the $30 price is good.  If it was $40, then I would skip it.  But $30 is good.  Not to mention that now I can skip on the PC port. :)

Well, by American I'll asume you mean Western games since Europe also pumps out the same kind of games.  I prefer Western games cause well, they're the kind I like.  FPSs and RTSs are all western and I prefer Western RPGs over jRPGs because western RPGs most of the time are actual role playing and not adventure games with stats like the FF games.  (Not saying I hate FF games.  I love FF6).
