I'm not worried about the games being free. Thanks for the recommendations - I'll check 'em out.

Hey folks-

I'm interested inpickingup a few games over the net, but I thought I'd ask around first and see what you opinions. I'm looking for two types of games - either bigger releases available as digital pruchases or those made by independent developers. I loved the Pocket Tanks game because of its relative simplicity and fun vibe. Any other ideas?

I'm still a big fan of X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter as well as the later Wing Commander games. Tachyon, as mentioned, is good fun too.

Thanks for the input, folks. I really do appreciate it. I'll check into Counter-Strike, and Halo 3 is going to be an investmtoo. Any other suggestions would be great. One game I don't generally have trouble with is the Timesplitters series. The cartoony characters and graphics seem to be much easier on my eyes. I'm thinking Team Fortress 2/The Orange Box might be an investment. Any thoughts?

Hey folks-

I am slightly color blind, which makes it very hard to see opponents sometimes in games like Battlefield 2, where the red names above the heads can blend into backgrounds pretty easily. Does anyone have any recommendations for any online-enabled FPS on either the PC or the 360 with relatively easy-to-see enemies? Or perhaps a good competitive game with solo deathmatch, so that I don't need to worry about confusing friends with enemies? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Anachronox is a fine sci-fi RPG. It's definitely not the greatest game out there, but it's got a lot of personality and might be worth a look.

A little preamble. I'm partially color-blind, mostly to different shades of the primary colors. I recently had high-speed 'net access hooked up at my place, and I bought Battlefield 2 for Xbox 360 to play online. Unfortunately, it's incredibly difficult for me to make out the enemies (I'm also, uh, blessed with poor vision). Does anyone know of an online-capable shooter for the 360 or the PC with easy-to-spot enemies? I'd also be happy playing a game with just plain ol' deathmatch, as it wouldn't be necessary to really tell my team from the enemies in that case. Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

I've got a question for those who have played the beta. How easy is it to differentiate between your team and the enemy? I just rented Battlefield 2, and one of the biggest dissapointments for me was not being able to really see the red names, as I'm partially color blind and the red just fades into most backgrounds. Is this a little easier to see in COD4? Thanks very much.

Uh, right, back on topic. One thing I've noticed too is that there is a ton of dead space around each side of the centered pages. Come on, any thoughts or ideas that aren't related to a flame war between IE and Firefox? Your input is appreciated.

While I appreciate the Firefox love, I'm sticking with IE7. I've used the Control+mouse wheel function to increase font size, but certain web pages still require me to scrolll far to the right.
