I enjoyed the original Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield and its associated expansion packs. I also really liked SWAT 4 and its expansion pack.

I'm curious, WhiteKnight, you say you don't like anything after Island Thunder. What about Raven Shield? That remains one of my favorite tactical shooters of all time, besides SWAT 4. If you didn't like it, what was wrong with it?

Impressive. Though I'm not big on streaming personally anyway.

I'm impressed by what I've been hearing about BF4 so far. BF3 was great, but it devolved from BF2 in so many ways - the lack of VoIP, lack of a commander mode... This looks like the more modern iteration of BF2 that I am personally looking for.

That, and I do agree that the linear unlock system requires an overhaul. People should get a couple of unlocks per rank increase and put it towards guns that they want. Scopes and such should be available the moment you unlock your gun - and vehicle unlocks should be eliminated entirely.

Also, commander mode on a tablet is badass. Can't wait to play it on my Surface Pro!

The first game was a very tedious grind. Not only was the combat bad, there were too many fetch quests and it took forever to get to the more interesting parts of the game.

TW2 is perhaps the most improved sequel to any game that I've ever seen. They made the combat better, made the game less tedious to play, etc.

After seeing my PS3 collect dust for three years, I'm not getting a console this time around. PC games are enough for me, despite console exclusives. Personally, I doubt I have the time for gaming anymore, so I'd much rather put that money into a gaming laptop so that I game between my jobs.

Meh, don't have enough time for mods anyway. I really don't mind.

Also commander is an extra slot now. 32 players on each team and then + 1 commader. Commander is a dedicated slot now. You can't both play and command, you're doing one or the other.

Fantastic.

Looks like my Surface Pro is going to be put to good use... I wonder how the tablet thing is going to work...

My friend and I were talking about E3 the other day (he's a big Nintendo fan) and I said to him that I didn't care about Nintendo at all.

He then said, "Well, you didn't grow up with Nintendo, so that's why you don't care."

I raised my eyebrows. It is true, I didn't grow up with Nintendo. I grew up with PC games like Half-Life, Doom, and Quake. I remain a huge fan of PC gaming to this day.

I thought about it: Besides people who grew up with Nintendo games as children, are there any older people who have suddenly become Nintendo fans in later life? Between all of the gamers that I know, the only people who are Nintendo fans are people who grew up with Nintendo as children and are still fans of Nintendo because of the nostalgic value that their games (both old and new) offer. Given Nintendo's orientation towards children, it's perhaps unsurprising to see that few adults would embrace Nintendo games in later life (the Wii and its casual games not included).

Your thoughts on the subject?

[QUOTE="SKaREO"]Dota 2. Nothing else really comes to mind that would be worth your time.jer_1

You've got to be f@cking kidding me, nothing..?

I would suggest a few indy titles, easily worth their entry fee...

Try:

Chivalry

Arma 3 (not indy but pretty darn close)

Minecraft

Terraria

Dayz (requires Arma2 OA prior)

The Walking Dead

Amnesia (excellent if you like to shit yourself in fear)

This is good for a start...

It's a matter of opinion. Don't let others influence your opinions.
