Bleh. Rinko Kikuchi so deserved the best actress award. Upon multiple watches of Babel I've come to the conclusion that I haven't been blown away by any performance like hers in at least at least five years. This isn't an exaggeration; without words she's done what very few actresses can do - bring me to tears.
Also, I'm happy with The Departed winning. Actually, I'm happy with just about any of those movies aside from LMS. It's a good movie that's worth owning, but it's not the best of the best.
Though I just watched Flags of our Fathers and was not impressed. [NO spoilers] It just felt really schmaltzy and uninspired and the acting didn't really impress me. There was also just about no plot. I know a movie doesn't need plot to be good, but it's not like the endearing characters or development of anything won me over. The whole movie was the main characters coping with a couple of post-war issues with the occasional flash-back to fighting, but so sporadically segmented in that you never knew how the battle was going. Boo.
Pinball Clemins, Donovan Bailey and Tom Cochrane. And Ron MacLean from Hockey Night in Canada lives down the street from me. He works out at the same gym as me too. :o
wrestling is pre-determined, that doesnt meanthey don't screw up sometimes ConManWithGunExactly. It's not like the wrestlers are set to pre-determind paths or on strings so that they can't screw up. They're not perfect, they end up beating the other wrestler way harder than they mean to sometimes. Boxing, now that's real.
