Anyone else feel that is is Scorsese's year? I believe it is, while I haven't seen Letters from Iwo Jima I have seen "The Departed" and all I have to say is WOW, its really really good.

Pan's Labyrinth looks like it has a good chance in every category it's up for and it'd be outrageous if it didn't win for best original score. Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson deserve an Oscar, and I'm hoping for Little Miss Sunshine to take best motion picture.

Bump #1. The awards start is only a few hours, should be interesting. An Inconvenient Truth is up for best documentary, Al Gore will be in attendance, if the film wins he is said to speak! There are rumors going around that he may announce his candidacy for the 2008 election if he wins.

I heard it's identical to infernal affairs, but just with western actors. Is that true? If so, then I don't think Scorsese deserves an award for it.

If Mark Whalberg doesn't win best supporting actor then I'll be really dissapointed with the awards board. However I'm torn between Little Miss Sunshine and The Departed for best picture, I'll stump for The Departed.

No, some of the scenes are repeated, but on the whole its its own movie. It's even got that elusive title of being better tahn the movie it's based on, which only Scarface and The Thing have done before it. It doesn't matter though, the Oscars are very faulty and stupid.

As long as Pan's Labrynth wins all the awards it was nominated for, I'm happy. The Departed for the win too, I have no idea why Little Miss Sunshine is up there, it's a comedy that took itself too seriously.

Children of Men was ROBBED for cinematography. I loved Pan's Labyrinth, but it was number two behind Children of Men for my favorite movie of the year. Children of Men's camera angles make you feel like you are inside the movie, right next to the main characters, while honestly I barely remember Pan's Labyrinth's cinematography.

ARRGH. That's just ridiculous. The car scene, a 6 minute take without a cut, the absolutely incredible ending sequence...I'm mad.

I really enjoyed the part with Al Gore, extremely funny. Nice to see he has such a large amount of support. Pans Labyrinth already has 3, very nice, excellent film!
