Yeah, maybe this time you will get twice as much crappy lag and even maybe...MAYBE 6 players online instead of the amazing 4. WOW!!!!!!

lol @ MS owning 2007. Sorry, but all of your big name titles are already out, 360 saw it's peak, now its downhill since there's nothing left. Especially after MASS FLOP came out.

RotaryRX7

Umm how many players does Uncharted do on-line - Co- op mode - on-line co-op?

Yeah go ahead and spout that nonsense.

Did I tout Uncharted at all in my post? Nope.

Fail.

but btw, Resistance does 40 (launch title) wow. Rainbow Six Vegas does 14. COD4 does 18 at most. Gears is quite the over-achiever of online players.

More players online does not equal a better experience, buddy. Besides, Gears is a different beast to the games you just posted. It doesn't need more than 8 to be good. Obviously, you've never played it.

Determined ignorance, I guess...

most gamers dont have the money to buy a PS3

see alot of people bought PS2 becasue in due time it was really cheap

halo2_4_pc

That's bull. If you think about it, the PS3 is usually cheaper than 360. Most people who have 360 play with Live WIRELESSLY. So that is $350+$100= $450+$50 a year for XBL, which = $500. PS3 is $400, has 40GB HD (compared to 360's 20GB), has built in wireless integration and PSN is FREE. $500>$400.

TC: You're right about fixing PSN to be more social, but we also need a full-on Halo killer. A super system seller. The majority of 360 owners I know own a 360 JUST FOR Halo 3. PS3 needs something like that. I think that now that Bungie has seperated from M$, they should make an incredible game for PS3. If they put "From the Makers of Halo 3" in their ads and the game can score a 9.0+ average critic rating, the game would skyrocket.

Yes, just beat a dead horse some more. Obviously, the 12 million Xbox 360 owners disagree with you which the 5 million PS3 owners agree with you...

TC: As for the PS3, well, it needs quality titles. Sure it has Uncharted, R&C, and Heavenly Sword, but those are all 8 hour experiences with no multiplayer (as far as I know). What ever happened to the bigger, longer games that were gonna be made because of Blu-Ray?

In the end, the PS3 suffers from quite a few things.

First, is obviously price, which doesn't need to be explained because everyone knows it.

Secondly, marketing the PS3 as Blu-Ray player first, games console second. Sony needs to quit saying 'Blu-Ray this and Blu-ray that', and market the current and upcoming games for the PS3. Waiting until MGS 4 and FF13 is suicide, they need some games, now. At least UT3 will help a little.

Lastly, Sony's overhyping and fabrication of the truth. The PS3 has Blu-Ray, but it hasn't shown why gaming is BETTER with Blu-Ray. Where is the longer games we were promised? Oh, that's right, they aren't coming. Because Uncharted, an 8 hour game with great graphics, probably costed about 20-30 million dollars to make. Imagine if they made a 30 hour Uncharted, how much would that cost? Sony has deliberitly stretched the truth on many occasions, regarding Blu-Ray mostly.

Surely, deep down, you must know that you're talking nonsense.

Sure the PS3 has some good titles, but the 360's library is currently much stronger.

ParadiseAwaits

Having a larger library doesn't sell consoles. Its having good games.

More than half of the games that have been released on the 360 are crap. Unless your one of those morons that actually likes those Xbox Live Arcade games.

Dude, there are several quality titles on XBLA. Puzzle Quest, Geo Wars, Bomberman Live, Pacman: Championship Edition, Prince of Persia Classic, Alien Hominid, Assault Heroes, Undertow, plus several more.

Lots of original good titles are on XBLA. You are severly misinformed.

If you cared that much about free speech, you would realize that sacrifices are made for it. The soldiers that died during the Revoloutionary and Civil Wars were trying to protect you and me so we can have free speech. Does this mean that they had great lives after? No! They all died! In fighting for any cause, sacrifices are made, whole people given up for the greater good.

Now we come to the subject of Jeff G. I liked Jeff G at first when I came here. But then he decided to become "that one guy". Hey, I'm gonna be cool and under rate every game! Gamespot is a corporation. Corporations care about nothing except making money. With all the endorsors being scared off because of bad reviews for their games, was it honestly a surprise that Jeff got the boot?

I'm not saying that the man deserved to have his job taken away. Oh no. But a person with a reputation like his, if you were the owner of a money making website...would you hire him? Would you hire a guy that might make your buisness suffer losses of profit? No you wouldn't, unless you felt really damn sorry for him.

Godspeed Jeff. Hope you change a bit.

Thanks ;)

Shadow_op

Your whole statement is contradictory. You hail free speech, yet you say Jeff's firing is justified.

Of course companies need to make money. CNet made a choice to fire Jeff over a review that him AND all of the Gamespot writers approve. DO you people not realize that? That these reviews at Gamespot (and IGN) are approved by the team before they are shown? Are you really that blind?

Game journalism is just like any other type of journalism. You write favorable criticisms for the people who are paying your salary; ad companies. Sure, it sucks, but it's true. But that doesn't make Jeff's firing justified. Just because this is somehow acceptable as "just business" doesn't mean this is right.

So before you people thank Gamespot for firing Jeff over this, remember that all the writers approve it before the review is released. Jeff, unfortunately, was the scapegoat.

I just love how people say, 'Blu-Ray will give us bigger games', yet the games that have come out on Sony's system are 6-10 hours long (Resistance, Uncharted, and Heavenly Sword). And yes, I know it is very forward thinking, but really, if most big name games, like Mass Effect or Crysis, have $30-40 million dollar budgets and they are fitting games onto a DVD9, then what use does Blu-Ray have for games?

Noone in the gaming industry will go for a 60 million dollar game right now. For us to truly take advantage of the Blu-Ray's space capabilities, you could technically have a 100 hour game with Mass Effect graphics. Trouble is, it would cost FAR too much.

So more than likely, we will see the same size games on the PS3 (except for maybe MGS 4 using 7.1 uncompressed surround sound) as we will on the 360. Resistance was proved to have quite a bit of padding which increased load times to acceptable standards because of the slow 2x Blu-Ray drive and increased disc space to make sure it was over 9 GB.

Too early and too expensive to be taken seriously in the gaming world.

Look, here is how it will most likely break down, in my view.

The Wii will be the ultimate winner.

The 360 will be the 2nd place 'winner', even though it has a 50/50 chance of having lower sales than the PS3. I'll explain why later.

The PS3, despite being 2nd place in sales, will be the ultimate loser.

Sales are not everything. Sony will be the ultimate loser in this generation, IMO. Simply because they will go from 65-70% market with the PS2, to about 30-35% market with the PS3. In the end, Sony will have lost HALF of its market share. And that isn't enough to sustain the PS3.

The Wii will be the ultimate winner because their cheap, but desireable, machine will become (and already is) a casual dream. Then again, what is casual? Thats for another time perhaps. But the Wii has already big profit margins off the console. Unfortunately, it will turn Nintendo into a mostly casual company and leave many hardcore gamers feeling burned. Wii should have about 35-40% market share.

The 360 is in an interesting position. Even if it does have lower total sales than the PS3, it won't be by that much, I think. And even if it does have lower total sales than the PS3, they will have made a big dent in the industry. In this, the 360 has already succeeded, except in maybe Japan. If the 360 gets about 30% market share (which is what I expect) than the 360 is the bigger 'winner' than the PS3.

In the end though, Nintendo will be the big 'winner.' Then again, all companies will have close to the same amount of market share, I think. As an industry, that's healthy. And I hope it happens that way.

Looks very cool! I'm not sure about the voice for the main character though. Trying a bit too hard to be like Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones, it seems.

FIFA 08.

FIFA just blew PES out of the damn water this year.

The only ones getting PES this year are those that are getting both, or the screw tight PES fans.

I converted to FIFA the moment I played the demo.

Most realistic football simulation yet :D

FrozenLiquid

I hope your joking. FIFA still hasn't got football right. Sure, it's better than FIFA 07, but its not as good as PES 2007. Not nearly. PES 2008 for me.
