Being a JRPG fan for a long while, this review is kinda bull. I saw the 5 and expected the review to point major broken mechanics, bad dub, or game breaking glitches. Instead it got a 5 because it's too much like a traditional JRPG.
@Xero_Kaiser: Red Orchestra was buggy as hell and went a bit too realistic. People want a Battlefield or CoD styled WWII shooter. Not an "OH MY GOD I CAN'T RUN BECAUSE A SNIPER CRIPPLED MY LEFT LEG AND I'M BLEEDING OUT" shooter. And Rising Storm is literally a Red Orchestra expansion.
Sniper Elite is a third person tactical stealth shooter. So once again, not what people were looking for. We wanted a WWII multiplayer shooter in the vein of CoD or BF. A first person shooter that's light on the mechanical realism and set during a certain time period with set pieces, vehicles, and weapons to match.
Edit: As for Batallion 1944 they reached triple their goal. But they suffer from the gameplay they want. People want WWII FPS through the lens of a modern first person shooter. As in load outs, vehicles, and equipment. What the devs are doing with 1944 is literally old school CoD with outdated ten year old mechanics and gameplay philosophies to boot. It's why I didn't back it. I want the WWII setting but in a modern shooter.
@DragonessAthena: I see we have another person who pretends to know about WWI but thinks it was nothing but guys dying of the flu in trenches. That's literally only 1/6 of the war. There's the sea battles, the air battles, the eastern front, the African front, the Asian front, and then the western front.
@Xero_Kaiser: It's been ten years. TEN. YEARS. There are people playing these games who were in first grade when CoD3 came out. Gamers have been asking to go back to WWII for a couple years now.
@Prats1993: Oh. You mean the decade old game on practically dead last gen consoles with dead multiplayer (even on PC)? There's a reason people WERE excited for the remaster. It looks better. Runs better. Will have people actually playing it. WERE is the key word there. Many people don't want to pay $80 for the remaster and even fewer people want to pay $80 for Infinite Warfare.
Yeah well then I'll just keep my money, Activision. I was excited for a return to CoD4. But don't care about Infinite Warfare and don't want to buy it. Don't want it. ESPECIALLY not for $80.
@tony_at_home: The big deal is that ONE person complained. ONE. After they announced the change it turns out that the vast majority of people who are following this game closely either liked that Tracer had that pose or were completely indifferent.
So it makes it look like Blizzard is ignoring most of their fanbase to cater to, at most, a handful of people. People who probably won't even buy the game.
I'm torn between Battleborn or Overwatch. Both have positives and negatives. I really like the look and characters of Overwatch but Battleborn has that Borderlands-esque goofiness to it.
They had my attention with the premise. Then they lost it with the execution. The game is literally just old Call of Duty. Right down to the dated mechanics and gameplay from 2003-05. That isn't what I want. I want modern Battlefield 3 and 4 styled mechanics and gameplay only with a WWII setting.
