@groowagon: Dock does not add power. The Switch nerfs it's output when in mobile mode. When you dock it, it pulls the restictions off of the processing power and runs full strength. Why? Heat and battery life. The dock has a cooling fan system built in and also acts as a charger for the Switch.

@Masterchief5525: The issue you should really be worried about is the data transfer speeds. MicroSD has about 1/4 the transfer speed of a standard hard drive. What does that mean? Longer load times. Much longer load times. Hopefully the game carts themselves are high speed. Or at least the transfer bus between the cart and console is high speed. Otherwise load times are doing to be an issue with the Switch.

@wolfpup7: You do know that Nintendo considers the 3DS a bit of a failure, right? It was supposed to push DS unit numbers (150 million+). Thanks to smartphones and tablets it's only pushed half that. And software sales on 3DS have been declining. You also seem to forget the 3DS did horribly at the start due to people not wanting to pay $300 for it. Switch could be a repeat of that. You can get a decent tablet for about $150, it'll have more games, it'll have better battery life, it'll have a 1080p display, and you can use it to emulate everything from NES games to some PS2 games. You can even tether a bluetooth controller to it.

@titang1: Well that may be the death of them. Not many people are looking for "innovation" or "uniqueness". Especially when that innovation is pointless. The Switch is just that. Innovation for the sake of being "unique" resulting in a product that has more weaknesses than strengths and seems to cater to no one.

Tell me. If games are the only thing Nintendo fans want, why not actually compete with their competitors? A Nintendo console with no gimmicks (as in no tablets or wagglan sticks) and PS4 power for $300 would sell like hot cakes. It would revitalize the falling Nintendo home console market. Instead they're making this. And hardware is only half the problem. The Switch launch lineup is anemic. They should hold off launch until winter 2017. As it stands on launch it'll have one good Nintendo game with a mountain of ports of 2-5 year old games. Minecraft and Skyrim aren't selling points. Especially Skyrim where some have already bought the game three times at this point and the Switch is going to have the worst version of Skyrim SE due to lack of power.

@wolfpup7: You need to stop deflecting to the 3DS. The Switch isn't aiming at the handheld market. It's a home console. It's not competing with the Vita and smart phones. It's competing with the PS4 and Xbox One, both of which out power the Switch. At $300 you can get PS4 bundled with one game and one year of PS+. If you want a second controller for your Switch, you're looking at $370. For only $30 more you can just get a PS4 Pro.

@doctor_mg: WiiU can do 1080/60 because it's easy as shit to render a 1080p texture when the texture is literally just the color red or green and the character models are all simple toy-like shapes. I remember on Wii Smash Bros being impressed that Marios overalls actually had a denim texture on them. Then look at Smash Bros WiiU. Back to being solid blue texture.

One of my biggest complaints with WiiU is that most games look like everything is made of plastic.

@lateralus85: I think you're alright as long as you don't consider killing Fireflies to be evil.

Yeah if my area is any indication then XOne did NOT do well in stores. Was at multiple stores Black Friday evening. Shelves were mostly empty of PS4s. Most places still had a bunch of XOnes around. Best Buy literally had piles of XOnes at the end of the day with maybe 10-15 PS4s left.

@Itzsfo0: Defensive much? There's no excusing Sun and Moons insultingly easy difficulty. Like I'm hearing things like many trainers having only ONE Pokemon at the mid game. Then you have the zones basically being straight lines with extra paths blocked by NPCs. Not even NPCs with some creative reason to be there. Just "Nope. Go the way we want you to.". Also your Pokedex telling you where to go all the time. Like even casual players are saying it's too easy.

@DoomSky: I'm sad right along with you. Played AW 1 and 2 plus DoR and BW. I miss the series. Also miss Custom Robo.
