Because he is working on union fixes and upgrades.

Sometimes when you cut and paste text from Word or any other rich text source, it'll give you that error. I had a post the other day where I was trying to us accents on my vowels, but it wouldn't let me. My best suggestion right now (without knowing the details of your post) would be to paste your content into notepad (or some other text editor) and ensure it is in ASCII format.

Then, you can paste the ASCII in to the message entry field for upload. if the problem persists, let us know.

v2 topics have been locked because union development is not where some of us would like it to be. With a new year comes new hope. I am continuing to play the clarion call for renewed action on unions.

it's looks completely funny now..huh. i really have wasted my time on unions all these years.dev_ron

I wouldn't say that. . . unless you really think your contributions were of no worth. Personally, I find activity, suport, and participation to be of great worth.

I've been on vacation.

When I expressed interest in being promoted to be an officer, I was hoping to show up, answer questions, and generally help you (the collective you) have some insight, input, and staff presence. I haven't changed anybody's responsibilities in the union. Some people have left of their own accord and the holidays have definitely contributed to a slowing of posts in the union. . . except to insinuate I was abanDONing you.

I believe in Unions at GameSpot and trust this place is a great forum for open discussion among union leaders. i am not going to force anybody to post nor will I send out PMs calling for activity. I will, however, ask critical questions here. If you don't post, I may not necessarily get the feedback I am looking for.

It may be easy at this point for many people to discount the attention or internal desire to improve unions at GameSpot, but I would strongly encourage those who care about the union experience to continue to care. Unions are not going away and improvements are still being championed internally.

I wasn't really anticipating this transfer of authority, but I appreciate the vote of trust. Laz, thanks for your hard work. I wish you the best in your pursuits.

Some of you have PM'd me about where I see the Union going. Honestly, I think having a place where union leaders can come together and discuss opportunities to improve the union experience is a worthwhile and valuable endeavor. I do not intend to change the format. Since I am a GS employee, I do have to enforce the ToS at all times and I am beholden to my employer's limitations as to what I can and cannot say about internal matters. Please try to respect that I can't always provide answers. I do listen and I am interested in improving the Union experience here at GameSpot.

In the event of an AWOL leader, feel free to message me. I can put the right leader in place. The rest is up to you.

I have plenty of questions, not sure how many of these they'll answer: BladeMaster75

Did they ever have freelance coders working on it (unions 2.0)? No

If not, is GS considering that option at all? No.

Is GS considering scrapping the entire unions overhaul in favor of incremental additions using the current code? TBD

Are they planning on either unfreezing the union levels or removing them entirely while we wait for 2.0? That is a can of worms all on its own.

I know other questions were asked, but these are all that I can answer right now. I figured it'd be better than getting no answer.

Ultimately, you have two one-time options:

1. Post a topic in your union with a link to where active members can find the new home for the union.

2. Update your graphic/link in your sig for your union with the external site.

Donkeljohn

By staying within the guidelines of the above two options, I am very confident you will be able to inform all of the active members of your union that you are relocating, and where they can find you ifthey wish to follow.
