What is it with Subscription based MMOs making a return? Secret World and Guild Wars 2 got it right. Buy to play is the future for these games.
If you MUST have a subscription based service, you'd damn well better have something to offer. After playing FFXIV's beta for a while, I (in my personal opinion) concluded that the game was a joke. It was nothing but a generic Korean MMO with a Final Fantasy skin yet even that is charging a monthly fee.
Brand name alone cannot and will not carry the game, and after leaked footage I've seen of TES:O, I am already certain this game is not worth the current price.
Nobody wants to shell out $15 a month on top of the intial price tag to grind out levels, gear, and PvP for months until the next shiny object is dangled in front of us. Take a look at dead old SWG and upcoming Archeage. Players want expansive sandbox MMOs. We want to live an alternate life in another world. We want to -experience- and -live- at the same time as we play. Not just break it down into number crunching and bragging rights.
It's actually kind of depressing now. Gaming has gone from a Niche hobby full of life to just another soulless, package industry product.
Nevermind what the assassin is now. They may as well drop 'Creed' from the title since the creed has had nothing to do with the game since the second one.
I'm going to be pretty irritated if I get desynchronized because Edward (a Pirate for God's sake) attacks or kills a civilian.
If I want to watch TV it's called saving the game and turning off the console.
They fail to remind us that you have to pay for Xbox Live Gold to use movie services like Netflix (which requires it's own separate subscription!) and you must already have a television provider to use the Xbox One as a cable box of sorts.
All Xbox one is doing is charging money for things you already have. Gaming is an after thought.
He means that the fact that they were perfectly fine and ready to **** over their customers until they saw the pre-order numbers has put him off even considering buying the console.
Didn't Microsoft just get finished saying that the Kinect HAD to be mandatory and that couldn't be changed because it was an integral part of how the console worked?
So they lied. Go figure?
It's still $100 more expensive than the PS4 for a piece of hardware that nobody wants. Not to mention it is still SLIGHTLY weaker hardware wise than the PS4.
Still not enough Microsoft, I'm sorry. I wanted to buy your console this generation, but you're running a close second to EA on my list of untrustworthy companies in the gaming industry.
