I was hoping to eventually get all three consoles this generation like I did last generation. Unfortunately Microsoft and Nintendo both dropped the ball...

Microsoft still won't swallow their pride for their customers, and Nintendo... doesn't even seem to be trying.

I have this feeling that Sony only managed to win this round because they watched and did the exact opposite of the other two.

Not complaining, either way. At least this Gen isn't a TOTAL loss.

Welp. That about seals the deal for any good Star Wars game now. Battlefront might be good, though I'm expecting a Battlefield reskin.

But really... imagine a new KOTOR, or Republic Commando? Focusing on online components for something like them?

Shit. There really is no hope left.

@chris91090 Which can be done, as it has occurred this year. As it stands, companies try to use the products of other companies to pander their wares.

PS4 manages to have slightly better hardware, a $100 lower price point, and it never carried what one might called anti-consumer features or business practices.

If those are incentives to purchase their console, I don't know what is. Hiding behind exclusive games will not make the consumer that is absolutely disgusted with the way you run your business cave in and buy.

Microsoft knows what they have to do. The Kinect has to go, certain Xbox Live gold features must be made free like the PS4, and the price must drop to match the PS4. The playing field will then be even.

Referencing the Xbox live stuff, currently you must have a gold subscriber to use Netflix, which also has it's -own- subscription to begin with. Netflix however is accessible for free on Sony's and Nintendo's systems provided you're subscribed to Netflix already.

Bottom line: These companies want us to buy their systems? THEY need to do their jobs and give us a reason to want to give them our money. They need to provide a superior product and not rely on products made by others to sell their system for them.

It's the other way around for me, granted my 360 is much older than my PS3 and has gone through 3 separate repair sessions because of RROD.

I'm sure if I went out and bought a new 360 it would out perform my current PS3.

They both had their pros and Cons. The 360 seemed better graphically, but the PS3 introduced Blu-Ray to the consoles and offered free online gameplay.

Why do so many people here continue to defend the Xbox One? I still have my 360 and original Xbox, and I love them both. But you HAVE to admit the Microsoft fucked up this generation. If you love the product, and you want them to make changes for the better, you HAVE to call out the bull shit.

PS4 has won the show this time like Wii won the show last generation, and it's Microsoft's fault for abandoning their core audience, the hardcore gamer.

Now lastly, before the arguing commences, no, exclusives and certain games do not make one console better than the other. Games are an acquired taste. One person may hate what another loves, and exclusives in general are bullshit. One company holds your favorite game hostage in an attempt to get you to buy their product. Should be done away with entirely...

Nobody wants the Kinect Microsoft. That little accessory of yours gave Steel Battalion an early grave...

I think one of the biggest problems is that many new MMOs are still trying to piggy back off of WoW's success with their design. The problem is though... we already have WoW.

If that's the sort of MMO people want, that is where they will go. They need to try something new.

Which is the point. Subscription based games will not survive unless they have the content to back it up. While Secret World has amazing quests and customization, the gameplay, the combat was pretty lacking.
