As long as the overall game gets better as it continues the story, I have no problem with it. Obviously they're in no rush to finish up FFXV.....or Versus.

Sorry for the long post...just skip to the Recap if you don't want to read about my RPG take on sports games.

Outside of being an RPG junky...I'm a sports game junky as well. Lately, sports game has been adding a feature in where you only play as one person, usually someone you created. It's almost like an RPG without the storyline. For instance, I love NBA 2K11 to death. You start out as a rookie...with very limited skills & terrible stats. You go through the NBA Combine where teams look at you before they draft you. Depending on how good you do, you get drafted or not. If you do, you continue with the summer league on the team that drafted you, earning "points" (like experience points) to add to your players stats. The better you do, the more points you can collect to build your player up. If you don't get drafted you enter the D league (the NBA Developement league) where you build up your created player in hopes of being called up to the NBA. I love the feature. Controlling only player can be fustrating at times but I've gotten use to playing with my team. I'm in my third season and I'm pretty much maxed out as far as building up my player goes. MLB:The Show also has a similar feature...you start off in the minors and you earn points depending on how well you play to help improve your player. You only control one player on the field and only bat with yourself. It helps the games fly by fast. I'm in my 11th year in that. I refused to buy the newer versions because I didn't want to start all over. I'm still playing MLB: The Show 09 and they've released MLB: The Show 11 like in March. 12 will come up and I'll probably still be playing 09.

Outside of sport games, I've become hooked on Xenogears once again. Got it on my PSP. Trying to get through FFIV: The After Years now also. And when the mood strikes me, I'll dig into some LA Noir when I feel like being a detective. Just got Disgaea 4 but haven't really played much. I'm juggling way to many games.

Recap:

PS3: NBA 2K11, MLB: The Show 09, Madden 12 (about to send it back...same 'ol stuff every year), LA Noir & Disgaea 4

PSP: Xenogears & FFIV: The After Years

360: Nothing at the moment....waiting on Mass Effects 3....and maybe Gears of War 3.

3DS: Zelda & a whole lot of Netflix.

Final Fantasy 7 was the first FF game I purchased myself but I started with the series since the first. I had a friend who introduced me to the world of RPG's with Dragon Warrior/Quest 1. And I've been hooked ever since. We would play through FF games together or he would lend it to me (which has very hard for him to do...he was such a cheap bastard). I've played all FF games to the end except for XI...but I did get into XI for like a year. First MMO I played & it took over my soul. I haven't played XIV...and from the looks of it, I probably never will. I would like to get into it for a little bit just to say that I at least played it. I've only replayed FFIV, VI, VII & X multiple times. I do plan on playing VIII & IX again soon. Maybe even XII. I have VII & VIII for the PC. I don't even want them anymore...I had a hard time running VII...the background wouldn't always load but VIII worked fine...I just never made it far on it. If anyone wants it, let me know...free of charge...all you have to do is pay for shipping.

I'm not sure what to expect out of the WiiU. I'm going to stop buying systems at launch outside of the Vita. System need to prove there worth. They cost to much to become expensive dust collectors. The only reason why I'll get Vita on launch is outside of whatever games comes out in the launch window (which look great), I have a bunch of PSP downloaded games I haven't even touched yet that I can put on it so I'll be thoroughly used on day one. I use my PSP a lot. It's has also become a perminate fixture in my car as my MP3 player. If I could put Netflix on it, my 3DS would get the cold shoulder every night when my wife decides she's taking over the TV, which I don't mind. It let's me catch up on all the anime I missed over the years. And then I just been playing FFIV:Complete & Xenogears again...got FFVII, VIII, VIII on deck. Plus I got game downloaded that I have never played before like Vagrant Story & Suikoden. There's countless classics to play on it that isn't affiliated to Nintendo's Classic (which the 3DS can provide me). Getting a Vita is a no brainer for me. My PSP is on it's last legs. It's all scratched up, the analog stick barely works correctly, it's had a good run. I just hope it makes it to the Vita launch. Still got quite a few months before that happens.

If you think about Final Fantasy being a 360 exclusive. It would allow SE to make their games so much easier without having to consider the capacity and quality of blue ray discs.DreadDLordD

I would think that it would be easier if they were exclusive with PS3 since the compacity and quality of BR trumps DVD. But I also have heard many many times that 360 is way more easier to develope for than on the PS3. I think SE should just go multiplatform on all games since it will net them the maxium profit. They are taking longer and longer to finish flagship franchise games. That costs them money. So they will need to get as much out of their games, sales wise, to cover the cost of making them. Multiplatform is the only way they can achieve this IMO. I own both systems but I'll always buy FF for the PS3, I'll always buy ME series for the 360. I tend to carry over my PS2 franchises over to the PS3 even they've gone multiplatform. Though I did by GTA4 for the 360 because they were getting the DLC first.

I never thought about putting them on my computer. I will be doing this in the near future. I got a lot of downloaded games. Is there something in place to stop someone from just giving the data to someone else. I share my downloaded games with my lil brother. I set up my PSN account on his PS3 so that he doesn't have to buy any downloadable games that I already have. But I know there's a limit to how many times you can download & possibly how many PS3's you can do this on. If you dump it into your computer, how will a PS3 or PSP know if you're over the limit?

I wasn't trying to hate on XIII. In fact I liked it alot because of it's "flaws". I was trying to make a point that XIII was in developement for a while & when it came out....there was so much negative flack. Same with XII, which I thoroughly enjoyed as well. I'm just trying to make the point that long developement time doesn't equal great game.

To tell you the truth...I haven't heard much about the story of XIII-2. Sounds pretty interesting indeed. At this point...anything game that SE makes interest me, I try to not indulge myself with too much info. They take to long to release & I just end up liking like a fiend, scrapping for every morsal of info to hold me down. Now I take it all in stride and try not to get wrapped up in one game.

And for ME & ME2...I agree with you 100%. I think I found the story better in ME1 only cause it was the introduction to such a great franchise. And I played it about 3 times. Even once as a female Shepard. I only went through ME2 once, mainly because I let my older brother borrow my 360 so he can catch up with all the games he missed while he was...."away".

I'm looking to get my hands on a Vita soon as it comes out. I'm not too crazy about digital downloads since you can't trade 'em & miss out on sales. Plus if your memory card starts getting filled up, you gotta make a decision on what to remove. The good thing is that you can save 'em on your PS3 harddrive. And the PSN store keeps a record of what you downloaded, so if you lose it, you can download it again (tho there is a limit to how many times you do this). I think pretty much all the newer high profile PSP games get a dual release on UMD & digital on the same day. So from here on out, if you plan on getting a Vita, I advise you to download any PSP game you might want to carry over. My PSP isn't in the best shape right now, and I've been tempted to buy myself a newer one but I don't want to invest money on a PSP when I can be putting that money into a Vita. I do have a brand spanking new, still in the box, black 3DS that I would be will to trade for a new or great condition PSP at this moment in time.

I was super excited at first along with every other FF fan but the anticipation has definetly died down some. I think the wait is hurting it cause some people might think long developement time = great game. But that isn't always the case. We've seen what happened with XIII. It was in developement for some time as well. Alot of hype really made that game less loved & more hated than the last FF game to take a while (XII). People are going to expect this game to be best in the series but I doubt it'll live up to that expectation. We all know this long developement time isn't because they've been working on it day & night for the past 5+ years. They've stopped working on it on serval occassions to help with other projects. Seeing the newer trailers do peak my interest but I'm not so caught up in the release date anymore. It could be a few more years before it comes out. I bet we'll see screen shots of FFXV before Versus comes out. And it wouldn't surprise me none if the game gets cancelled.
