I got lost in the world of FFXI for about a year and a half. I got it the first day it came out. It was pretty fun when you find yourself a good team or become part of a Clan. The game was great at one point and really terrible during my end. But I'm glad I got to experience it first hand. I was hoping to give FFXIV a try on the PS3. Guess that won't be happening anytime soon.

Though I find you guys convo very interesting...it is a bit off topic. The discussion should certainly be continued, but probably in a different forum or topic. Just to put my quick 2 cents in...this year should be very interesting to see how things turn out politically in this election year. Let's see if the people really want change or just the some stick with no vasaline we've been getting all these years.

Back on topic. Not sure which character I would be most compatible to. I'm a person who likes to be left to my own devices (making music, playing video games, watching ESPN...). I have plenty of friends but I don't hang out much. I rather be relaxing in my house than going out. I'm extremely loyal to my family. Even though I rarely ask for help or favors, I'm usually the first guy you think of when you're in need and I try my best to come through for you. I do more for others than I do for myself. I'm patient yet I don't wait for anyone to do something for me that I can't already do for myself. I want respect yet I find it hard to accept compliments. I'm rather unique.

I had wrote a story a while back in another FF union. Somebody had ask a question about what if Cloud could rap...because of something that was said early in the game & the word Rap was used. It word "rap" was use as slang for "talk" but I ran with it and wrote a story of FF VII involving rapping & the music biz. I'll look for it & probably polish it up and post it on here.

Has anyone ever thought about collabing on a story. Put some characters and ideas together into one story. I do music (Hip-Hop) and always love getting with other like minded artist to create a song. Anyways, I've always wanted to team up with someone else and come up with a story line & characters. I draw a little to, so it's cool to come up with character model, though I don't draw as much as I use to so my skills are rusty to say the least.

I plan on revisiting FFVIII soon. It's been a while since I have touched FFVIII. I just played through FFIV yet again, this time on the PSP. I previously played it a couple of years ago when they did the remake on the DS. Then I went through Xenogears again (such a great game) and started Vagrant Stories. So either I'll wait till I'm done with that or just play between that & FFVIII.

I'm also interested to see if Serah will be a good lead character. Though I have a feeling she'll be the type to be dragged around while Noel does most of the damage. She doesn't come off to me as an experienced fighter though she could have learned a thing or two in the two years that passed.

It's hard for me to pick. It's between VI and VII. I'm one of the rare few in this group who started with FFI on the NES. FF II (US, IV JP) really got me hook to the series and FFIII US (VI JP) blew my mind as far as how the story goes. FFVII was such a leap in terms of graphics & gamplay as far as using materia for magic & other things you would normally get depending on what character you had but then each character had special abilities that grow with you. Then you had great cut scenes. At the time, the move for an RPG to go 3D was huge. I think the only other game I played at the time that was 3D was Wild Arms...that game came out before FFVII and FFVII did a better job (if that was even possible) with their 3D models. So that made the game even look better. Now FFVII aged horrendously IMO. FVIII still looks pretty good even though it's a PS1 game. I think more than anything, I would love to see a FFVII remake in any form except for phones, is because it's long over due to have some decent graphics for such a great game.

The great debate of whether FFVII is better than FFVIII. They're both great games. What drew me in more towards FFVII probably was it's crazy story line. The first play through I didn't really know what was going on...but I knew a few things, Cloud was one of my favorite characters & two, hunting down Sephiroth was fun as hell. What an adventure. The story itself wasn't mind blowing but it was interesting enough because there was such a mystery involving characters & relationships. I had to get to the end to find everything out. I really liked the combat...it was traditional with enough change to make it feel fresh. And Sephiroth was the perfect villian. You wanted to kill him because of all the horrible stuff he did and yet as the game got further along & you put more of the pieces together, you kind of understood why he did what he did. Never was a villian so complex. Kefka of FFIII was also a villian who made you want to hunt him down but he wasn't as complex as Sephiroth. Kefka was just straight power hungry & crazy. You can almost sympathize with Sephiroth because he started off a good guy. Then you find out what drove him mad. FFVII had so many elements that made it a great game.

When FFVIII came out, I loved the new artist direction of the game & the school of mercs vibe. How you had to fight the GF to earn them. I'll be the first to admit that I was one of those people who was not a big fan of the draw concept as I felt it disrupted the flow of combat. I also was very adaptive to the junction concept. I use to put whatever where ever. My second play through, I was much more aware of this fact. I was on the fence with the fact that monsters would level with you. It was cool that I didn't have to grind but then that also ment I wasn't going to overpower monsters unless I found the right items to put on the right statistic. The story was good but never grabbed me like previous FF games, I never cared about the villian in this game. The rivary with Seifer was much more interesting to me. The cast was hit or miss with me. Though the cast of FFVII was the same. But I liked the cast of FFVII better just because of how mix match they were. You had a variation of different backgrounds. But nobody beat the cast or variation of FFVI. I never gave FFVIII the proper attention I usually give FF games on the second play through. I kind of rush through it the second time also. But I do have it on my computer & bought it off the PSN so I'll definitely be getting back to it. Now that I'm a seasoned RPG vet, I can better understand & appreciate the game. Or maybe I'll like it less. We'll see.

I got a few FF games piano version soundtracks...so spin tingling good. Love the emotion the pianist conveys over such memorable melodies. Give me the chills.

I know the time I've invested in FFVII probably blows away all other games by hundreds of hours. After I beat it the first...I was in no rush to finish it the next 3 times I played it. I always spend time getting every item, maxing out every materia (which is time consuming on it's own). I made sure I had a set of master materias (master the Knights of the round table so late in the game sucks). The runner up has to be IV. Another great game but I mainly played it alot because, it's not as long as VII and they released it so many times with two remakes. I can't wait to get my hands on the HD version of FFX. That's a game I I've been wanting to play again lately. I've only played that twice...with the last play through the most thorough as I played it mainly to get every single thing possible. There's quiet a few FF games I haven't given a second play through: FF I,II,III,V,XI,XII,XIII. I doubt I'll be playing them again any time soon though I still have V, XII & XIII in my current collection.

I remember getting all those legendary weapons. It made those final battles easy as hell though. It was a task especially dodging 200 lightning strikes. The good thing is you could take a break as long as you didn't enter a new screen (I believe). After every 20 or so dodges, I would go to an area and just catch my breathe & get back to it for another 20. It took a while but I did it. Anyone know when they plan on releasing it...sometime early or late next year hopefully?
