You will have to keep your membership active to continue to play those "free" games but to me, Plus is worth it if you...
a) don't have alot of games. $18 or $50 to play 10 games free out the gate (and a majority of them are really good games) isn't bad at all.
b) if you download at lot of stuff from the PSN store. Plus members get discounts that will all but pay for the membership at some point, if you buy a lot of stuff that's discounted.
Being that they always give new free games away every month or so and the discounts are always coming for new stuff, keeping the membership alive so that you can always have access to your "free" games isn't that hard. I'd rather pay $50 a year to get access to free games and decent discounts on stuff I'd actually buy full price for than $50 a year to play games online. That's just me though.
As much as I like Final Fantasy...I would not spend the money they're asking for this collection. I've played them all except for XIV. I'm going on 36 years old so the first one came out when I was around 10 or 11. I remember when it came out, I didn't even have a NES but I had a good friend who did & he had a friend who was into RPG's. I had no idea what an RPG was in those days. I actually think I saw them play Dragon Warrior first but FF appealed to me more because you can actually see your characters fighting on the same screen with the monsters. Since I didn't own a NES I didn't get to into FF. I owned a Sega Master System and my friend lend me Phantasy Star and that was my first interaction with RPG's where I wasn't just watching. Any ways, with the release of FFII (IV in the main series) on the SNES, I was hooked and never looked back.
You guys were aware the The Last Story was already out in Japan and EU for a while now right? Also, it is published by Nintendo so Wii was pretty much the only option. I don't have a Wii. Nor do I care to get one. This game is out at the end of this month. Blue Dragon I liked, reminded me of Chrono Trigger. Lost Oydessy was good as well. Have you guys seen Ni No Kuni? That's a game I will be able to play;) It is developed by lv 5 and you might find that the art style is similar to KiKi or Ponyo:P

By the way, the art style of Ni No Kuni got me really wanting to play that game, though I read it has it's faults as far as story & gameplay goes. It's hard to tell it from a cartoon. I would of thought a lot more games would have went this direction this generation. Guess it's not an easy thing to pull off.
