Freakin' Awesome Episode!! I love the ending. EA sucks. But I mostly just dislike their over bearing "Jerry Jones owner and MVP of Dallas Cowboys" approach to publishing games. Take 2 ftw!!!

EA has abandoned its online pass scheme -- a bit of news we thought you'd be delighted by. Turns out not everyone is rushing to thank EA. Johnny investigates.

It's a shame really, everybody was genuinely pleased that EA put the right foot forward and removed online passes but instead of turning over a new leaf they blatantly assault another publisher like Nintendo rather than establish a good public relations with their fan base. It is sad when you consider that the devs now not only have to deal with Electronic Arts' infamous crunch time but they also have to deal with the fact that their PR has now resorted to that of a tantrum.
Johnny looks like Breaking Bad's Walter on the ad for this feature. If Johnny was to cook Meth and wear one of those suits from the show, he would be a Rubber Johnny!!!
I pirate their games anyway...Take that EA ! Thanks for making it possible for me to play your games online for free from now on....MUHAHAHAHAHA ~!!!
6 Like I believe the hatred of EA is stupid. Its a video game company. There are worse things in the world to hate. I don't understand how there is so much passion to hate a gaming company that is only meant to make make games for profit like every other gaming company. People don't seem to understand how strong the word hate is and its not cool to hate EA.
@Mkeegs79 That's a very good point--I strongly disagree with a lot of EA's business practices, both now and in the past, but it's not hatred. Hate is a really strong word. I doubt most people really hate EA: as Johnny said, hyperbole is alive and well. Especially on the internet.

You wanna make me happy EA? Stop with the benefits for people not on a budget. I bought the Mass Effect Trilogy used for $20 cheaper, and I got docked $30 worth of content that's free if you bought it new. Sorry that I'm not loaded and looking to get the most for my money.

If you buy a used home, the original contracter doesn't bill you for wanting to use the closet space. If you buy a used movie, Paramount doesn't charge you if you want to watch the last 15 minutes.

i actually agree with the people who say they should never have implemented it anyway.
why celebrate? for them removing something we hated, that they put there themselves? that like if a guy kicked you in the shins everyday for a year and then suddenly stopped doing that. you'd be happy, of course, but you wouldn't go to him and say ''good of you'', you'd think ''finally''.
ITs really hard to be excited for that news when you can be sure with 90% probability that they abandon online passes because something far far worse will replace it. You know its EA. naybe some farting fee will be activated? when you fart in front of the forced use of kinnect you have to pay 50 bucks because you violated the new nonfarting terms of use
If asking to be treated like a respected customer who pays shitloads of money for games made by a certain publisher makes me self entitled then I guess I am. When you pay for a product that doesn't meet your expectations e.g. is marketed to be something completely different and/or is broken different you have the right to ask for a refund or ask it to be fixed. I don't see any problem with complaining about shitty games. Aliens: Colonial Marines, War Z, Mass Effect 3 etc. in any other industry except gaming would be considered faulty products and refunded or fixed on customer demand (notice that i use a singular noun).

Like: forced multiplayer in every single game ; Buying out and destroying franchises ; Pay to win ; DMR ; Seasonal pass (they basically sold people promises) ; Day one DLCs , just to name a few.

First off, EA is a monopolist and that's one reason people hate them. They've got access to certain licenses that operate practically as a monopoly.

Personally I hate EA. I like some of their games but I don't like their corporate strategy. So I invested in Blizzard Activision, because their games (and Diablo 3 wasn't soo bad) have been good over time. I mean, the first game I played was Warcraft 2. As you can see, when I invested a year ago it's been a good investment:

I look at Blizzard as gaming's Apple and EA as gaming's Microsoft.
4 Like @dmblum1799 Blizzard uses online DRM's which are just as bad as online passes. Blizzard also uses the real money auction house in diablo as well which is pretty sneaky to.
@stan_boyd @dmblum1799 I agree that that's very sleazy. But you have to consider the long term track record. Blizzard never made a really bad game. EA has published quite a few of those.
Yes just new skins, new names, new character models, new enviroments, new stories, new themes, new styles, new developers, new weapons, new armor, new.... wait what?
@dmblum1799 @stan_boyd It was incredibly brutal. My buddy and his brother played one character for months just to hit lvl 30 with good gear. Sold their account for serious money too.

@stan_boyd if you think WoW is a grind you should have tried FFXI online when it came out, 12 + hrs just looking for group in that game, not to mention playing for a year to just get max lvl, FFXI was the biggest grind game ever you had to have no life at all to play that game.

@stan_boyd @dmblum1799 Over the last 20 years, Blizzard has been the better company. I personally know people who have worked at both companies. I have no doubt that Blizzard is the better company. That's my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
@dmblum1799 @stan_boyd I don't hate or love either, but don't say one is evil and the other is good when they are both doing the same business tactics. Also NFL decided to give the licence to EA because they were more successful with the games the 2k series sold poorly, blame consumers for that.
@stan_boyd @dmblum1799 For a full licence of NFL properties, EA currently has an exclusive deal. Those games can't compete with Madden b/c the lack all the properties.
But hey, if you love EA and hate Blizzard, put your money where your mouth is. I already have and have made a tidy profit with Blizzard.
@dmblum1799 @stan_boyd also bliz isn't that original, starcraft and warcraft copied off of command and conquer, wow copied of everquest etc diablo wasn't the first hack and slash either. Just new skins and new names.

No, Blizzard makes it own licenses. EA leeches them like FIFA and Madden creates quasi monopolies. All of Blizzard's titles are original titles. That's the difference.
@dmblum1799 @stan_boyd thats not the point, the point is Bliz uses the same tactics EA uses, so saying bliz is good and EA is bad is like the pot calling the kettle black.
@stan_boyd @dmblum1799 I don't like the auction house but really my solution was just not to do Inferno. I did up to inferno with 4 characters and never touched the auction house - you don't need it.
@dmblum1799 @stan_boyd I didn't get into EQ my first MMO that I really got into was guild wars which after buying the discs was completely free. No monthly fees, no pay to win.

@stan_boyd @dmblum1799 Another thing to remember is that when I was playing Wow in the early years, there were thousands of Chinese robot farmers that were very annoying. The real money auction house was a way to deal with that.
@dmblum1799 @stan_boyd that depends on your opinion, WoW is the simplest most grindiest MMO I played and therefore I did not find it that great, Also I am not into hack and slashers so I did not find Diablo that good, although I gotta say Warcraft 3 and Starcraft are good. EA makes the NHL games which I love as well as some other titles I like.
