Shows only Single Player gameplay....

Oh come on even if Gamespot reviewers aren't bribed directly you guys have repeatedly proven that your reviews can't be trusted, ever since the Kane and Lynch review Gamespot has had this reputation and you guys keep living up to it, giving games that not only suck but bomb in user reviews an 8 or a 9 out of 10.

And it usually happens to be games that are heavily advertised on your site so don't insult our intelligence by pretending the reviews are objective. Negative points are often glossed over or omitted from the reviews on these games, and sometimes rather significant issues that can't be accidentally glossed over or ignored.

And this creates a sense of inequity with your bad reviews too, you give some games such biased favorable reviews that it creates a dissonance with the negative ones that aren't being reviewed by the same standards.

Spoiler, CoD Ghosts is about not being stealthy at all, and the story is absolute crap.

This is the best show on the Interworks.

What's it with FPS players seriously. I don't see people raging over PES or FIFA series, and they've been more or less the same for decades

While I agree the scorn/hate on COD lately has been a bit over the top and I do like this show to see the comments on the site. I did find your comment in the show "If I were to play the devils advocate on this" you say that the game is mainly reviewed as a multiplayer game the review in itself has about 50/50 on single/multiplayer on the other hand 2 out of 3 positive things about the game is from the single or now coop campaign and the only negative is a weak story. This still warrants the game the usual 8+ score. At the same time Medal of Honor: Warfighter which was released oct last year was shot down and given a 6/10 because of it's weak story and cliché campaign while still same as Call of Duty from what I understand is a mainly multiplayer focused game aswell.

You know how in some games you feel like you're job could easily be fufiilled by a highly trained wardog.  CoD takes that to heart, and gives you a highly trained wardog whose much better at your job.

how old are you people? 8? Gamespot is essentially doing their best. don't like what they do here, go to another site. Gamespot will miss you ,and you'll feel better for getting in with the crowd that suits your needs. otherwise, just accept the fact that reviews are always different all around the board, GS reviews are fair, at least in terms of how they review games... and also, games are judged based on the merits they present in the product. this isn't a popularity contest, and never was. grow up first, then talk business.

well Johnny who aren't fatigue by call of duty's is the american people because in Europe most of the people play CS or Battlefield 4 lol. Honestly I don't understand why the Americans love call of duty so much! Is very clear the market where call of duty have more profit is in the american one, more then half of the copies go to the american market!

Worst COD to date. It was fun while it lasted.

McInnus might not be corrupt, but it is highly unlikely that his score is not at all influenced by the free promotional materials Activision sends to top-rating review outlets and giving away "Prestige Editions" of the game to "journalists" at press events. Reviewers in other industries like food and hotels are always made wary of the undue influence receiving freebies can have on a review, and are usually instructed to refuse them.

TL;DR - if you want us to take your scores seriously, stop accepting the freebies.

bahamut_au
bahamut_au

People should be suspicious when less-commercial review outlets have been far more critical of this COD, especially when it has a pretty woeful single-player and the least innovative COD MP since CODWAW.  There isn't any inclusion of how badly the PC version runs, either.

This show tries too hard to make decent points made by viewers sound ridiculous by putting on a stupid voice -_-

It's useless to argue over review scores, but people can't learn from that. They think somehow magically it will change with the next review and everything will be fine. Sure it is a surprise how CoD year after year gets at least an 8, but is it? GameSpot is an entertainment stuff releated site. The people like and hate things. The reason why the different genres are reviewd by different people. Let them do what they do and accept their opinion or don't waste your time arguing over it... it's useless.

Gelugon_baat

Some of you should realize that by coming over to complain about reviews in the comments, you are already feeding sites like GameSpot with your Internet traffic.

Way to go protesting, dudes.

i think GS reviews could be good, its just that it seems that all the reviewers they have tend to have very different view points and only focus on their specific way of thinking and ignoring any kind of person that might have a different view point when making the reviews.  Then the reviews rarely reflect more than one opinion and only represents how a few people feel about the game.  I'm not saying reviewers can't have their own opinions or that they shouldn't show their opinions some where in their reviews but they should make their reviews with more than just themselves in mind to give a fair review.

Then again, that would actually require the viewer to read the article which many people don't do already, oh well.

If you trust Gamespot reviews enough to influence what games you buy....you're going to have a bad time.....

Assigning arbitrary values to games is a pointless way of indicating quality.

I rarely check review scores ever, I just browse game sites for news and such.

Watching Feedbackula is similar to watching videos on the Cringe Club channel, it leaves a sour taste in my mouth, but I liked Johnny's explanation at the end. Its true, if reviewers here would just give CoD: Ghosts a 5 for being a CoD, then this would not be much of a unbiased review site anymore.

I watched a couple of hours of COD ghosts gameplay, and I wasn't impressed by the story. The other COD series (particularly MW2 & Black Ops) had really good stories. This one felt generic and obvious

victorcom

8 is unfair for this game. It should be a 9. COD is COD, so that doesn't allow you to reduce the score.

So basically COD number 10=The last of us?

@malfestus When I watched someone play it, they ram raided a military base in the first mission, and picked off the stragglers with a robot sniper... There is something really wrong here... I prefer Zero Punctuation or Angry Joe Show for my reviews. Angry Joe Show is a singular reviewer, and isn't a part of a big company, and thus, he can express his opinions on a game if he needs to, instead of being given a script, like how it feels on GS and IGN.

@bahamut_au Guess what, they don't care about freebies, wanna know why (probably not) ill tell you. Freebies don't pay the rent, reviewers have to pay the bills and being a credible journalist is how they do that, you cant eat a prestige pack. Want freebies, run a charity event, ring Activision, ask for freebies and guess what, they magically arrive its that easy. Madcatz are awesome for free stuff too.

@Finwey Even without the stupid voices most of the "decent points" they made were simple flaming because they didn't like the game franchise.

@rtircoklled

I don't have any issue with reviewers sticking to their own views. Rather, I would prefer them to stay that way.

You may consider that they would be better off otherwise, but I say that they would have others' own bias affect their own bias.

Gelugon_baat
Gelugon_baat

@elbcen  @Aaron_130

Then they would be biased against Call of Duty.

Really, people like you throw the word "bias" around carelessly. Maybe you should realize that as long as a person has an opinion, he/she will inherently already be biased.

I see you still fuss over arbitrarily assigned numbers, musalala. How petty you still are.

elbcen

I think you misunderstood my comment, because I absolutely agree with you, except that I do not believe every opinion to be based in bias.what I meant was that if Gamespot would take the publics opinion on the game and just give it a bad review because it is COD, then they aren't unbiased reviewers anymore

musalala
musalala

@Gelugon_baat @musalala No I am simply pointing out the idiocy and inconsistency  of Gamespot rating system Batman A Origins is essentially the same DNA as COD:Ghosts a point  blank rehash but gets a 6. Last of Us essentially on of the highest rated games this gen is as good as Cod:Ghost?

This is why they get accused of having paid reviews

musalala

@Gelugon_baat @musalala ??? how am I self-centered? Gamespot does not have a standard something that is pretty evident to everyone, They criticize a game for rehashing the same material but ignore it in another? Also How is Gertsmann-gate off topic? You insinuated that I was being delusional   for claiming gamespot would stoop so low as to bow down to pressure form big publishers to give a good review when the Gertsmann-gate proves you very wrong.

Gelugon_baat
Gelugon_baat

@musalala

You are going off-topic with Gerstmann-gate really. If you are thinking that bringing that up would convince me, think again; I likely know more about that incident than you do.

Gelugon_baat
Gelugon_baat

@musalala

You are still as self-centered as ever I see. If you have not heard this from me before, you can hear it again: it's only "inexcusable" and "sloppy" because you don't like it.

Also, there are no such thing as "consistencies" and "standards" for pieces of opinions, which reviews are.

musalala
musalala

@Gelugon_baat @musalala Still inexcusable, and very sloppy,  if you are going to have a standard apply it consistently across reviews or you just look like idiots.
