I forgot to mention that I whore myself out during evenings, so I'm rolling in disposable income to waste

Well, I don't know squat about electronics, but I am interested in this whole whoring thing.

JK. In all seriousness, though, what's with the whole, "I'm not too keen on books," thing? That's the second time in as many weeks I've seen someone make a statement like that. Books contain knowledge, you seek knowledge, sounds like a perfect match to me.

I love reading. I love it so much I've got a pile of books half a metre high on my bedside table. I'd rather do something practical

Ok: It's summer, I'm bored, I'm playing too many video games and all my friends are on holiday. I've decided to invent a hobby for myself: electronics!

Problem is that I was never that great at science at school (although my physics was OK), and my maths is atrocious. What do you guys think is the best way for me to pick up the skill? I'm not too keen on books, so I was planning on getting one of those 1000-in-1 kits I remember fiddling around with when I was young. On the other hand I just found this http://www.makershed.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=MKSL1&CartID=1, which seems a little more hands on.

Any tips?

Hey all. Before I take the plunge and buy a delicious Lime Green DS, can you guys advise me as to whether I need any accessories for the console, as they often add considerable expense to the overall purchase. Are any cases particualy reccomended, and are screen protectors necessary? I've heard that the screen can scratch easily, but I know that some electronic devices come ready-packaged with plastic films covering their screens that can function as well as retail protectors as long as you dont remove them.

Here in the UK, people generally ignore graphic novels. However, I really want to get into them. I've already picked up Watchmen and Batman: Dark Knight Returns, but those are two pretty heavy going titles. To top them both off with a little variety, I just want a fun comic read: pure escapism, nothing too politicised or too deep or emotional. I was thinking of picking up a Superman book, since he's so iconic and so damn super-heroic. Can any expert in the field please advise me on a good place to start? I don't know jack about any kind of Superman lore/mythology/whatever, so anything is good.

Because modern games are so advanced its hard to look back on the 90s, when most games were far more primitve (and generally far less fun) then they are today, fairly. The 90s saw the biggest breakthroughs in PC gaming, whilst I think the naughties have perfected most genres. Which is more important, I don't know.

We all know an announcement is coming within the next few weeks. Rockstar may only release the PC version in a few months, but they won't let PC gamers loose too much hype by delaying an announcement.

It's guaranteed that a PC release is coming our way (I've heard some confirmations of a PC port in development from people close to R*). We haven't heard anything about it yet as Sony and MS don't want a PC port stealing the thunder from their consoles. I predict an announcement within a few months. I hope that they aim to release by the end of summer. There are plenty of other big PC games coming out after then that could damage their sales.

Well when the tetris melody is going you cant hear anything other than the thud of the bricks :) It's not a sound you notice until you turn your ear towards the speaker, if that doesnt sound too odd :P
