[QUOTE="grarap"]Do any good ones exist? Years ago I played Law and Order: Dead on the Money and really enjoyed it. I was hoping to get my hands on a proper evidence gathering + courtroom game, not a Sherlock Holmes type thing.Franko_3

Culpa innata

That doesn't look like it has any in-court bits

I have the same one. Woot! :P 192 is the way to go or even higher. It would be a 'sin' to waste this player's potential with 128 kbps songs.sthadji

Doesn't it have some sort of magic technology that makes 128 sound like 256?

Make sure that you're a real RPG fan if you want to get into it. I completed the main storyline in around 20 hours (whilst barely skimming the surface of side-quests and guilds). After that I got bored with my character and never went back.

So to get from 128 to 192 would I have to re-rip my entire CD collection? o_0

OK, so my new Sony A818 8gig walkman was dropped from the heavens onto my threashold this morning. I bought it because of the rave reviews it was getting praising the player's fantastic sound quality. I guess that after using ipods for years I thought that I could to with some quality over style.

However, I have no idea what bitrate to use. My music collection is around 2000 songs (which is all I'll ever have probably - can't stand most modern pop music). I mainly listen to my music on the train whilst commuting, or whilst walking, but never on a music system, and I'm no real audiophile.

So is 128kbps the way to go? Will I be able to tell the difference even if I bump my collection up to 192 or even 256 kbps (and will 2000 songs at 256 even fit on my player with room to spare for video and podcasts)? Hell, what codec should I use? I guess a problem is that 90% of my music is ripped from CDs at 128kbps WMA, which'll probably make conversion tricky.

Who can tell? The US is showing signs of decline, whilst China is on the rise. Then again, an unforseen future event could entirely upset the balance. China's booming economy for instance is built on relatively shaky financial ground. Once we go into recession again within the next few years (presumably) things will get interesting.

They both have their own strong points.
I have a 30GB Zune and I use to own an iPod, and I am so much happier with my Zune.

But Zune is only sold in the US which is not such a good thing, if MS were to sell Zune worldwide like Apple has done with iPods, then Zune might actually be a great competitor for iPod.

I agree. I actually live in the UK, so getting a Zune in the first place was a hastle. In practice though, it only means 2 things. The first is no Zune Originals, which I'm not too bothered about. The second is no Zune Pass, which is slightly more fustrating. I can't for the life of me understand why MS hasn't given an international release date.

I once had a problem where my iPod Mini spontaneously decided to erase my entire music collection one evening. Never had an issue with the software though.

[QUOTE="limpbizkit818"]

We are still waiting Niko for you to "rag on the Zune all day" and tell us how the Zune is an iPod rip off.

Btw, I saw that terrible "shut up n00b get off my internet" reply before you deleted; is that the best you can do

Niko_Dragaknov

What? are you going to be a little baby and tell on me? good luck proving it:lol:

Talk about skirting the subject! C'mon, what's so awful about the Zune?
