Dang, I thought I'd make it into the episode this week, Johnneh! But you didn't mention any of the very lucid conversations we had about the fact that Wii U outsold PS4 last week! Or that the first month sales for both PS4 and XBOne don't look like their going to exceed first month sales of Wii U (3 million, remember?). Huh, too much common sense for you, maybe!
Point is, Wii U is currently in 1st place in overall sales and nothing I've seen so far indicates that won't remain true for the foreseeable future. We won't know for at least a few more months, but Danny's report of Wii U's death may be greatly exaggerated.
@bunchanumbers @PlatinumPaladin And if you look at last week's sales, you'll find that Wii U outsold PS4 for the week. Pretty damning for PS when they've been out a whole week and Wii U over a year and they still get beat after the initial irrational pre-sales were done.
@GOGOHeadray @gouldjw Similar to the Wii U at launch - couldn't find one anywhere for 2 months! Point is, we won't know how much the Wii U beats the others until 2-4 years from now. Will it sell twice as many? Three times? Hard to tell at this point. ;)
@joshphillips @superhippy420 Wii was declared DOA and it trounced the competition. To date, > 100 Mil. sold vs. 80 for PS3 and 79 for XB360. There are still people today who claim the Wii wasn't a "serious" console. Wii U will be equally vilified as it trounces the rest.
@GOGOHeadray @gouldjw Wii U sold 3 million in its first month. So far, PS 4 has been out for 2 weeks and sold less than half that. So... if they don't sell 3 million in the first 5 weeks, will you eat your words and declare PS4 dead?
