@korvus: The purpose is to be good and go to heaven, i don't know what they think will happen after that.

Because they need to believe that there is a higher purpose and that life doesn't just end after death.

I've given up hope already.

So they will make it easier enough to appeal to more people but not too easy because they don't want to disappoint the Souls fans. Seems reasonable.
