Other than the memory cards, yes, the console itself is impressively priced. $250 is much more believable for what you're getting with a PS Vita compared to the same initial price tag of the 3ds, the latter of which is more reasonably priced now. I want to get one, but justifying buying anything of the sort right now is difficult.
That Australian deal's not bad. All that I am aware of here in the U.S. is the first edition bundle, which doesn't seem to be much of a deal at all. The only truly extra thing you get for buying first edition is the console a week in advance. That doesn't sound worthwhile, especially if Little Deviants doesn't interest someone. I am pleased that games like Wipeout and Hot Shots are only 29.99 USD, though.
