I've been stoked about Fallout 3 since I finished playing Fallout 2.   I can't help but think that if this game is designed with the console in mind, it's not gonna be pretty.  RPG's just don't seem to translate very well to consoles, and the Fallout series should be anything BUT a first-person shooter.  ugh.

Ultima 9 Ascension / Pool of Radiance / Temple of Elemental Evil are in a 3-way tie for the "crappiest in my collection" award.

Disable / close as many unnecessary programs & services as possible.  That'll generally extend the "life" of your gaming rig.

Couldn't agree more.   Seems strange to say considering how old it is, but Far Cry is still has some amazing graphics.

Man I love my G5 mouse, but it has one pretty serious drawback IMHO:  It doesn't have enough programmable buttons.   If you pretty much use your keyboard to play most games (or a combination of keyboard/mouse) then you'll be okay.  But if you're like me and would rather control most of the main functions with your mouse, then the G5 may not be the best option.

Do you have a PCIe/AGP video card, or are you using integrated graphics?

It'll be just fine.  A decent proc, video card and a gig of RAM will suit most non-gamers just fine.  And of course, you'd even to be able to play the vast majority of games on it as well, but I'd stay away from some of the more demanding games.

I want AMD because of the AM2 Socket...halo1588

It's your money pal, and not too long ago I would've agreed with you on the Athlon 64 purchase, but seems to me that if you're serious about building out a nice gaming rig, today you'd have to go with Intel.

I know there are rabid fans in both camps, but I'm not one of them.  I'll switch loyalties at the drop of a hat, depending on who's making the fastest processor - and you can read the benchmarks yourself.
