In my PC I have 2 sticks of 512 MB.  Does anybody know why my computer is reading it wrong?  When I run 'dxdiag', it says I only have 638 MB.  Does anybody know why it is doing this?

Do you have a PCIe/AGP video card, or are you using integrated graphics?

That could be your problem then, integrated graphics uses your system memory in place of its own.

That sucks.  So if I do buy that 1 gig stick, will I have 1,638MB or will it be lower b/c of my graphics card?
